Join PDS Tech Commercial as a Fabrication Specialist – TPS Technician at the Kennedy Space Center and play a key role in developing the materials that protect aerospace hardware during the most demanding phases of flight. Your craftsmanship will directly support missions that push the boundaries of human and commercial space exploration.

About the Role

This full-time, 6 month consulting opportunity places you on the front line of Thermal Protection System (TPS) fabrication. Using specialized materials, precision processes, and technical documentation, you’ll help ensure that critical structures remain safe and mission-ready.

Location: Kennedy Space Center, FL
Schedule: Monday–Friday; must be able to work all shifts (training on 1st shift)
Pay Rate: Starting at $27.31 per hour

What You’ll Do

• Mix and apply primers according to specific ratios and material requirements
• Support Thermal Protection Systems (TPS) foam applications (preferred, but not required)
• Interpret and follow complex blueprints, drawings, and process documentation
• Fabricate and work on structures and systems using established engineering standards
• Safely handle chemicals and ensure accurate application methods
• Work in tight or confined spaces for extended periods
• Contribute to high precision manufacturing processes that support flight hardware integrity

Required Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED
• 1+ year of relevant experience or equivalent education/experience combination
• Experience mixing and applying primers
• Ability to read and interpret detailed blueprints and technical process documents
• Comfort working with chemical materials and following strict safety procedures
• Ability to perform hands-on tasks in confined or limited spaces

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience supporting a NASA program
• Clean room environment experience
• Manufacturing experience related to human spaceflight, spaceflight, or aircraft hardware
• Coursework or hands-on experience with Thermal Protection Systems (TPS)
