Summary:
Evaluate alternate replacements for obsolete electrical and electronic components
Conduct proactive obsolescence forecasting using Component Monitoring Tools, Predictive Systems, and OEM/ Supplier surveys
Monitor GIDEP alerts and provide obsolescence status reports to programs and DoD customers (Navy, Air Force, Army)
Develop obsolescence mitigation strategies and business case analyses
Prepare presentations and communicate DMSMS case issues and proposed resolutions to customers and programs
Support periodic DMSMS meetings with internal/external DoD and industry stakeholders
Assist in preparing contractual deliverables, reports, and PMP implementation
Manage obsolescence mitigation processes within Product/Program IPTs and support enterprise-level teams
Recommend new or alternate electrical components for legacy and new product development programs
Requirements:
Security Clearance: Secret (Not required to start)
Knowledge of basic electronic components (resistors, capacitors, diodes, inductors, transformers, connectors, ICs) and researching alternates
Team collaboration within hierarchical organizations
Strong writing, communication, and attention to detail
Understanding obsolete parts and evaluating alternatives
Must be a U.S. Citizen (as defined by ITAR).
Desired Skills:
Military aerospace experience
Component evaluation with industry/military standards (SAE, Mil-specs, ASTM, IEEE)
Experience with SOWs/SSOWs and customer deliverables
Component-level design and part selection, including alternate substitutions
Electrical system testing, troubleshooting, or manufacturing experience
Incorporating EHS, Lean, and Quality principles in materials, processes, lab testing, and work procedures
