Summary:

    Perform complex assembly operations on structural parts, mechanical assemblies, subassemblies, aircraft systems, equipment, and accessories using manual or automated tools.

    Fabricate and assemble sheet metal, extrusions, and production parts using layout, fitting, punching, forming, grinding, cutting, riveting, and rework techniques.

    Set up and operate metal forming machines to shape sheet metal, plate stock, and extrusions.

    Build structural and weld assemblies, including sealing and insulation installation.

    Tools used include: band saws, drill presses, CNC and manual shears, level roll, hydro presses, brake machines (Amada, Marvel, Cincinnati, LVD), flow water jets, large saw machines, hand drills, rivet guns and shavers, shrinking/stretching machines, down draft table, hand deburring tools, assorted hand and vibratory tools, and metal fitting equipment.

    Perform surface treatment and finishing of metal parts, including cleaning, pickling, etching, conversion coating, passivating, degreasing, sandblasting, stripping, buffing, polishing, painting, heat treating, and hardness/conductivity inspections.

    Apply and inspect finish coatings to ensure proper surface condition and protection.

    Conduct precise inspections of formed parts and assemblies using precision measuring instruments and gauges.

    Verify complex geometries, including compound angles, compound/reverse contours, and coordinated dimensions to tight tolerances, using standard, experimental, or developmental templates.

    Tools used: HVLP paint guns, racks and baskets, cranes, heat treat ovens, water quenching systems.

    Layout, mockup, fabricate, and install tubing systems for production, prototype, and experimental products.

    Incorporate engineering changes and create master tube templates.

    Set up and operate tube equipment including bending (manual and automated), coiling, flaring, burring, swaging (manual, portable, semi-automatic), banding, and brazing.

    Perform tubing pressure testing and auxiliary detail tests.

    Conduct tube cleaning, preparation, finishing, and electrochemical etch identification.

    Tools used: multiple tube bending machines (Pines #4 CNC, 025/075 Multi Pines CNC, VB 25, VB 90, VB 19, VB 42 right & left), hand benders, laser vision measurement tools, aqueous degreaser, swage machines (1/4" 4"), facing machines (1/4" 6"), pressure test equipment (50 15,000 PSI air & water), band saws, grinders, bead blasters, braze generators, and assorted hand tools.

Requirements:

    High school diploma/GED or applicable certification from an accredited institution; equivalent experience accepted.

    Physically able to perform frequent walking, standing for long periods, sitting, bending, kneeling, stair and ladder climbing.

    Capable of reaching, gripping, and performing flexion/extension motions.

    Able to operate hand and power tools.

    Physically suited for repetitive and sustained manual tasks in a production setting.

    Must be a U.S. Citizen (as defined by ITAR).
