Support Engineering Data Specialist
Location: Oklahoma City, OK
Schedule: Monday–Friday | 1st Shift (7:00 AM – 4:00 PM, 9x80 schedule)
Pay Rate: $47.50 $59.50 per hour
Job Type: Full-Time | 6-Month Consultant Assignment
PDS Tech Commercial is partnering with a leading aerospace organization to hire a highly skilled Support Engineering Data Specialist. In this role, you will transform complex engineering and operational data into actionable support solutions that directly impact aircraft performance, safety, and mission readiness.
You’ll play a key role in developing technical documentation, analyzing system performance, and ensuring that critical flight and maintenance information is accurate, accessible, and aligned with real-world operations.
As a Support Engineering Data Specialist, your day-to-day responsibilities will include:
Creating and revising military flight documents such as Aircraft Flight Manuals, Operating Manuals, Checklists, and Handbooks
Collecting, researching, and analyzing engineering data, specifications, and system documentation
Developing and maintaining technical publications and crew operation procedures
Collaborating with subject matter experts including engineers, technicians, pilots, and flight test teams
Leading technical publication planning, including schedules, budgets, and deliverables
Conducting peer reviews, quality checks, and validation of technical documentation
Interfacing directly with customers to ensure accuracy and usability of deliverables
Analyzing reliability, maintainability, and operational data to recommend supportability improvements
Supporting provisioning strategies, spare parts recommendations, and maintenance concepts
Evaluating aircraft and fleet performance to enhance operational efficiency and readiness
Required Qualifications:
Minimum 5 years of experience working with flight series publications and forms (military or commercial derivative manuals)
Flight or flight training experience (pilot, flight engineer, or similar background)
Proficiency interpreting and applying flight manuals and technical documentation
Ability to read and interpret complex engineering drawings, specifications, and system descriptions
Strong ability to manage multiple projects and priorities effectively
Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite (especially Word) and Adobe Acrobat Pro
Preferred Qualifications:
Prior experience as a pilot, flight engineer, radar navigator, or electronic warfare officer
Flight crew or military aviation experience
Experience with Arbortext Editor and SGML
Pilot’s license or equivalent aviation certification
Working knowledge of military specifications and commercial aviation standards
Typical Education/Experience:
Bachelor’s degree and 6+ years of related experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience
