Summary:
Perform connector terminations, including shielded wires, coaxial cables, and fiber optic wiring
Follow routing instructions and properly handle wire harnesses
Perform sealing, wrapping, bonding, tying, and closure of wire harnesses and cables per standard processes
Read and interpret engineering drawings, technical orders, process specifications, and retrofit requirements
Use tooling assemblies and fixtures for depot-level modification and repair of electrical wiring
Perform assembly, installation, inspection, modification, and operational/quality checks of electrical systems and wire bundles
Troubleshoot aircraft electrical and communication/navigation systems at both organizational and depot levels
Interpret work instructions, blueprints, wiring diagrams, charts, and technical data
Operate equipment in accordance with established safety and operating procedures
Coordinate, prepare, and move materials and tools as needed
Operate powered elevating equipment to complete work assignments
Maintain required certifications, licenses, and permits
Perform duties of lower electrical classifications as needed
Requirements:
Must obtain Secret clearance after start.
10+ years of experience with electrical/electronic theory and avionics systems, including shop mathematics and practices
10+ years of experience interpreting schematics, specifications, assembly drawings, and standard operating procedures
10+ years of experience installing, repairing, modifying, testing, and troubleshooting electrical systems (including experimental systems)
Experience fabricating and installing wire bundles
Experience routing and installing wire bundles on aircraft (commercial experience preferred)
Ability to work variable shifts, including weekends and overtime
Ability to climb ladders, work in confined spaces, and lift up to 35 lbs (team lifts for heavier loads)
Exposure to noise and elevated work platforms
Use required personal protective equipment (PPE)
Pass visual acuity and color perception tests
Ability to read, write, and comprehend English
Handle and properly dispose of hazardous materials
Maintain required training certifications
Occasional fine motor/finger manipulation (1 3 hours)
Frequent reaching, walking, standing, and balancing on various surfaces
Occasional climbing (3 12 ft ladders/stands)
Ability to bend, squat, crawl, sit, and operate foot controls for extended periods
Must be a U.S. Citizen (as defined by ITAR).
Preferred Qualifications:
Avionics experience
Experience with depot-level or modification maintenance
Ability to operate forklifts, mobile cranes, and powered elevating equipment
FAA Airframe and/or Powerplant (A&P) certification
