Description:
Develops, maintains, and communicates strategies, policies, and initiatives to enhance safety and airworthiness of Company products and services. Researches, analyzes, and assesses safety and regulatory data, trends, and developments for impact to Company products and services. Contributes to influencing safety and airworthiness initiatives through application of specialized technical expertise in airspace operations, human factors, air navigation, customer operations, safety management, policy, or regulatory domains. Collaborates with external stakeholders (customers, regulators, industry, and external organizations) to identify safety and airworthiness issues and supports developing and implementing solutions. Addresses safety and regulatory technical inquires and requests from internal and external stakeholders. Supports and facilitates the investigation of organizational factors that contribute to safety and airworthiness issues. Supports the deployment and implementation of safety and regulatory policy, standards, and guidance. Participates in advocating internally and externally for safety and regulatory enhancements to support Company products and services. Provides technical guidance and training relative to moderately complex safety and airworthiness matters. Day to Day: As a Certification Plan Owner (CPO), the goal is to complete first-pass quality for certification plans in a timely manner. Being a CPO, offers opportunities for project management working through the Certification process with our internal Network team but also external teams – creating, reviewing, and approving sections. Certification Plans priorities are based on the timing required for technical tests (SOI/Qualification Test/Ground Test/Flight Test) and will require coordination with multiple teams within Company, including Engineering Unit Members and Reg Admin as applicable. Being a CPO requires adhering closely to guidelines from our Regulatory Administration & Airworthiness teams. Daily work also requires updating status in Project Planner, tracking and resolving planning events that apply to each CP, and providing regular updates to lead and management.
Education/experience typically acquired through advanced education (e.g. Bachelor) and typically 6 or more years' related work experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience (e.g. Master+4 years' related work experience, 10 years' related work experience, etc.)
