PDS Tech Commercial, partnering with a leading innovator in the aviation industry, is seeking a detail driven Shipping/Receiving Materials Associate for a full time, long term contract opportunity in Des Moines, IA (50265). This vital role ensures that essential aviation hardware moves accurately, safely, and efficiently through the supply chain—directly supporting production, maintenance, and customer delivery operations.

Schedule: Monday to Friday; Shifts: 1st 8AM-5PM
Pay Rate: $25.00 per hour
In this hands on position, you will be responsible for packaging, inspecting, routing, shipping, and receiving aviation hardware with precision. Your work will help maintain the integrity, traceability, and timely distribution of critical components that keep aircraft systems functioning at the highest standards.
Operate a bag sealer and package hardware according to strict specifications (labeling, heat sealing, boxing).
Accurately match serial numbers on hardware to labeling documentation.
Carefully handle aviation hardware to prevent damage and maintain quality standards.
Determine appropriate packaging containers for various products.
Ship customer hardware per routing instructions (FedEx, UPS, and others), ensuring all paperwork and labels are placed correctly inside and outside each container.
Ship hardware to vendors following provided routing instructions and documentation requirements.
Access and complete all required SAP transactions for shipping and receiving.
Unload incoming delivery vehicles (UPS, FedEx, etc.) and deliver packages to designated internal destinations.
Unpack shipments, verify quantities, match paperwork, and check metal content using the Niton gun when needed.
Complete receiving entries in SAP with full accuracy.
Perform additional tasks as required, including overtime based on business needs.
2–4 years of experience in shipping, receiving, materials handling, or a related field
High school diploma (HS) or equivalent
Ability to:
Operate a bag sealer
Match serial numbers with precision
Package and label hardware accurately
Handle hardware safely and confidently
Follow detailed routing instructions for outbound shipments
Use SAP for shipping/receiving transactions
Unload and process inbound shipments
Use tools such as the Niton gun for metal verification
Ability to work on your feet, lift packages, and support warehouse operations as needed
Willingness to work overtime as required to meet business goals
Onsite availability, Monday to Friday, 1st shift (8 AM–5 PM)
Prior experience in aviation, aerospace, or other high precision industries
Strong understanding of shipping compliance, packaging standards, and logistics processes
