Inventory Clerk / Stores Material Associate – Keep Aerospace Production Running Smoothly

PDS Tech Commercial is partnering with a world class aerospace leader to hire a reliable and detail oriented Inventory Clerk / Stores Material Associate in Des Moines, IA (50265) for a full time 6 month consulting assignment. Your work will play a key role in ensuring materials flow efficiently through the production process—directly supporting the creation of high impact aerospace components.

About the Role

As an Inventory Clerk / Stores Material Associate, you will help maintain accurate inventory levels, issue materials to production teams, and ensure the stores area operates with precision and efficiency. Your contributions will help reduce delays, improve workflow, and keep mission critical manufacturing on schedule.

What You’ll Do (Day to Day Responsibilities)

• Issue materials from the stores area and record all related data accurately.

• Print routers, assemble router packets, and pair them with appropriate parts.

• Order materials and maintain proper inventory levels to support production demands.

• Pack and unpack items for stocking; store items neatly and accessibly.

• Receive and count incoming items, verifying and recording quantities.

• Perform weekly cycle counts to maintain inventory accuracy.

• Actively support Continuous Improvement, safety initiatives, and process enhancements.

• Collaborate with Cell Planners to support priorities and material requests.

• Follow all EHS, Quality, and CI rules, guidelines, and standards.

• Work overtime or extended shifts as needed to meet business goals.

• Perform additional duties as assigned to support the production team.

Required Qualifications

• 2–4 years of experience in inventory, stockroom, warehouse, or materials handling roles

• High school diploma (HS) or equivalent

• Ability to:

  • Manage and track materials accurately

  • Follow standardized work and documented procedures

  • Count, verify, pack, and store materials properly

  • Work independently under general supervision

  • Support production teams with timely material issue

• Must be able to work onsite, Monday–Friday, 1st shift (8 AM–5 PM)

• Willingness to work overtime as needed

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience in aerospace or advanced manufacturing environments

• Familiarity with inventory systems, routing documentation, or ERP tools (SAP or similar)
