Location: Savannah, GA | Pay Rate: $80.52/hour | Schedule: Full-Time, 1st Shift (6:30am - 3pm)
PDS Tech Commercial is partnering with a leading aerospace organization to identify a highly experienced Stress Engineer ready to solve complex engineering challenges and drive innovation in aircraft design and performance. This is a high-impact role where your expertise will directly influence the safety, reliability, and advancement of aerospace structures.
About the Role
As a Structural (Stress) Engineer, you will lead engineering efforts on complex, high-visibility projects that require advanced technical expertise and innovative thinking. You will be responsible for solving critical structural challenges, developing new methodologies, and guiding engineering standards that shape the future of aerospace programs.
This role is ideal for a seasoned engineer who thrives on technical leadership, independent decision-making, and tackling problems where no clear precedent exists.
Key Responsibilities
Lead full lifecycle engineering projects involving complex structural analysis and design challenges
Perform advanced stress analysis on aircraft primary structures, including fatigue evaluation
Make authoritative technical decisions that impact large-scale engineering activities and program outcomes
Apply advanced engineering principles, theories, and concepts to develop innovative solutions
Develop and implement improved methods to optimize product performance, cost, and schedule
Serve as a technical leader, driving new ideas, standards, and best practices across engineering teams
Plan and execute investigations into critical areas where limited or no engineering precedent exists
Develop standards, guidelines, and processes for diverse engineering activities
Work independently under consultative direction to meet program objectives
Support MRB (Material Review Board) activities and provide structural analysis guidance as needed
Required Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or a related field, or equivalent combination of education and experience
Minimum of 10+ years of experience in stress analysis on aircraft primary structures
Strong experience in fatigue analysis of aircraft structures
Expertise in Finite Element Method (FEM) analysis
Demonstrated ability to lead complex engineering projects and make high-level technical decisions
Deep understanding of structural analysis principles and aerospace engineering practices
Preferred Qualifications
Advanced degree (Master’s or PhD) in Engineering or related discipline
Experience with CATIA V5
MRB (Material Review Board) support experience
Broad engineering experience across multiple technical disciplines
Proven track record of developing innovative engineering solutions and standards
