Location: Savannah, GA | Pay Rate: $48/hour | Schedule: Full-Time, 1st Shift (5am – 3:30pm)
*Classroom training will be conducted during 1st shift, hands on training will be on 2nd shift for 60-90 days, then the position would be back to 1st shift.*
PDS Tech Commercial is partnering with a leading aerospace company to hire a motivated and detail-oriented Manufacturing Engineer. This is an excellent opportunity for an entry-level engineer to contribute to high-impact manufacturing processes while gaining hands-on experience in a world-class production environment.
About the Role
As a Manufacturing Engineer, you will support the development and improvement of manufacturing processes to ensure efficiency, quality, and reliability. Working under moderate supervision, you will create work instructions, assist with planning improvements, and help resolve production challenges. Your contributions will directly support operational excellence and the delivery of high-performance aerospace products.
Key Responsibilities
Develop and author detailed manufacturing work instructions to improve process efficiency and achieve zero-defect outcomes
Analyze manufacturing operations and recommend improvements in tooling, equipment, production flow, and methods
Assist with planning enhancements, including layout and assembly processes
Support make-or-buy decisions and recommend corrective actions
Create and maintain Manufacturing Bills of Materials (MBOM) in systems such as SAP, Solumina, or Corridor
Conduct productibility studies using engineering drawings
Apply Lean Manufacturing and Six Sigma principles to optimize production methods
Perform research, analysis, and reporting to ensure compliance with requirements
Support safety, sustainability, and ergonomic initiatives
Assist in developing rework instructions and corrective actions
Contribute to quality improvements and business continuity planning
Maintain accurate activity status reports and support special projects as needed
Required Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, or a related field, or an equivalent combination of education and experience
Entry-level experience (internships, co-ops, or academic projects are acceptable)
Basic knowledge of Lean Manufacturing and/or Six Sigma principles
Understanding of blueprint reading, tooling, manufacturing processes, quality control, shop math, and plant safety
Ability to work with computerized tools such as CAD, CATIA, or similar systems
Preferred Qualifications
Degree or hands-on experience in aviation maintenance
Lean Specialist certification or higher
Familiarity with ERP/MRP systems such as SAP, Solumina, or Corridor
Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills
