PDS Tech Commercial is partnering with a leader in the aerospace industry to hire an Entry-Level Flammability Technician to support fire-test operations in a cutting-edge Experimental Test Lab. This is your chance to launch a career in aerospace—no prior flammability testing experience required. If you’re mechanically inclined, detail-focused, and eager to learn, you’ll play a key role in ensuring aircraft materials meet strict safety standards.
Your Impact
You’ll help ensure that materials used in aircraft can withstand fire and meet rigorous certification requirements. Your work directly contributes to the safety and reliability of aircraft used around the world.
What You’ll Do
Day-to-day responsibilities include:
Prepare test samples and assist in setting up flammability test rigs and lab equipment
Assemble, maintain, inspect, and repair complex test fixtures and specimens
Support and participate in fire-test execution while accurately recording test data
Perform basic instrumentation checks and assist with routine calibrations
Read and interpret blueprints and apply shop math in daily tasks
Learn and follow lab SOPs, work methods, and experimental test processes
Communicate with supervisors and test engineers to understand assignments and provide updates
Maintain clean, organized workspaces using 6S and Lean principles
Support inventory management of lab materials and supplies
Follow all safety procedures, use PPE, and proactively identify unsafe conditions
Properly use, maintain, and store tools and equipment
What You Bring
Required Qualifications:
High School Diploma or GED
Experience using basic hand tools
Ability to read and interpret blueprints and perform basic math
Valid driver’s license (required for operating towing and related equipment)
Ability to read, write, speak, and understand English
Strong attention to detail and hands-on mechanical aptitude
Ability to climb ladders and stairs, work in confined spaces, and lift up to 50 lbs
Preferred Qualifications:
Experience in aviation, manufacturing, or electronics
Basic sheet metal experience (cutting, bending, forming, drilling)
Basic electrical experience, including reading schematic diagrams
Familiarity with aircraft inspection, maintenance, or repair
Basic machining experience
General computer skills

Potential swing shift schedule (Wednesday–Saturday)
