Structures Mechanic

Job Title: Structures Mechanic
Job Type: Full Time; Consultant (12 month assignment)
Location: Jacksonville, FL
Schedule: Monday–Friday | 1st Shift: 6:00 AM – 2:30 PM
Pay Rate:starting at $37.08 per hour
Perform close tolerance drilling, reaming, installation, and removal of components on critical support and fracture critical structures.
Locate and prepare blind holes for new structural installations.
Execute sealing, painting, shimming, and preservation tasks per standard repair processes.
Read and interpret engineering drawings, technical orders, specifications, and retrofit requirements.
Use tooling assemblies and fixtures for depot level structural modifications and repairs.
Troubleshoot and repair aircraft mechanical components; replace as needed.
Perform sheet metal and structural modifications, repairs, and associated processes.
Assess functionality of basic aircraft electrical systems.
Utilize aircraft tools, including torque wrenches, dial indicators, micrometers, cable tensiometers, and sheet metal tools.
Access aircraft data via computer systems; initiate online parts orders and discrepancy requests.
Maintain necessary certifications, permits, and licenses for assigned work.
Safely ascend/descend vertical ladders, work in confined spaces, and lift approximately 35 pounds.
Ensure a safe work environment using Hazardous Energy and Lockout/Tagout protocols.
3+ years of experience working with non porous metals (aluminum, titanium, stainless steel).
3+ years interpreting schematics, specifications, assembly drawings, and SOPs.
3+ years using structures hand tools (drills, countersink cages, rivet guns, pancake adapters, hole finders, etc.).
3+ years working heavy structures: locating, drilling, countersinking, and fastening major structural components (doublers, stringers, webs, seat tracks, etc.).
Ability to support variable shifts, including overtime, weekends, and holidays.
High school diploma/GED and 4+ years of related experience, or equivalent (vocational school, associate degree + experience, etc.).
This position requires use of information or access to facilities subject to the International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR) and/or Export Administration Regulations (EAR). These regulations may limit access of controlled technologies: 1) to U.S. Persons, including U.S. Citizens, lawful permanent residents, and other narrow categories including refugees and asylees, or 2) to certain foreign nationals that have received an export license.
Live aircraft experience.
Depot level or heavy structures maintenance or component repair experience.
Ability to operate forklifts, mobile cranes, and electric elevating equipment.
