Chipton-Ross is seeking a Conventional Machinist for a contract opportunity in Torrance, CA.
BASIC QUALIFICATIONS (REQUIRED SKILLS/EXPERIENCE): •Ability to review blueprints and drawings to determine set-up procedures, machining sequence, and dimensions. Select fixtures, part holders, and tooling to machine parts to specifications.
•Ability to monitor tools and attachments to ensure parts are properly cooled and lubricated.
•Knowledge of feeds, speeds, and surface finishes related to blueprint requirements.
•Ability to read and interpret blueprints, drawings, and geometric tolerances.
•Basic mathematic skills include but are not limited to adding, subtracting, multiplication, division, geometry and algebra for calculating material fabrication.
•Must be capable of using calipers and basic measuring tools.
•Full compliance with the Company's DOT Antidrug and Alcohol Misuse Prevention Program.
•Regular and predictable attendance.
POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES: •Machinists use a variety of conventional and CNC metalworking machines for the manufacturing of helicopters and helicopter parts in accordance with manufacturing procedures approved by the FAA.
REQUIRED EDUCATION: •Accredited HSD/GED
WORK HOURS: •Full-Time
•This work assignment has been designated as "safety-sensitive" by the Client. Contractors assigned to safety-sensitive jobs at the Client site must first complete regulatory pre-placement requirements prior to reporting to assignment. Additionally, contractors assigned to safety-sensitive work will be subject to random drug and alcohol testing in accordance with federal mandates.
