PDS Tech Commercial is partnering with a leader in the aerospace industry to hire a highly skilled Cabinet Finisher. In this role, your craftsmanship directly impacts the quality, appearance, and performance of high-end aircraft interiors. From luxury finishes to precision repairs, your work ensures every detail meets exacting standards—helping deliver an exceptional in-flight experience.
What You’ll Do (Day-to-Day Responsibilities)
As a Cabinet Finisher, you’ll combine technical expertise with artistry to produce flawless finishes:
Perform complex, high-quality repairs to finished aircraft furniture both in-shop and onboard aircraft
Apply finishes using spray equipment and manual/mechanical methods
Interpret engineering drawings and material specifications to ensure compliance with design standards
Collaborate with Design teams to match customer-approved samples with precision
Champion safety protocols, 5S practices, and protect aircraft interiors (PTP)
Mentor and train junior technicians, sharing best practices and craftsmanship techniques
Lead or assist in projects, delegating tasks and supporting team coordination when needed
Identify and implement process improvements using Lean Six Sigma principles to enhance safety, reduce costs, and improve efficiency
Track materials, manage work orders, and sign off tasks using internal systems
Participate in safety audits, 5S audits, and continuous improvement initiatives
What You Bring (Required Qualifications)
High School Diploma or GED
Minimum of 4 years of experience in wood finishing processes
Advanced knowledge of cabinet finishing techniques and products
Ability to read, write, speak, and understand English
Ability to interpret engineering drawings and specifications
Comfortable working in confined spaces, climbing ladders/stairs, lifting up to 40 lbs, and working various shifts
Basic computer literacy
Highly Preferred
Experience in the aerospace industry
Familiarity with aircraft inspection processes, specifications, and terminology
Proven ability to mentor and guide less experienced technicians
Strong attention to detail with a commitment to high-quality craftsmanship
