Summary:
Develop and document equipment and tooling concepts to meet aerospace product design and build requirements
Participate in design reviews; create and revise drawings and models to support build plans
Perform tool liaison activities to support fabrication and production use
Create specifications and purchase requests for new equipment and tooling from vendors
Ensure compliance with safety, producibility, maintainability, reliability, ergonomic, and regulatory requirements
Develop and document inspection procedures, usage instructions, and preventative maintenance plans; support user training
Manage budgets and schedules to deliver equipment and tooling solutions
Spend up to 8 hours standing/walking
Climb ladders or stairs to access equipment
Work at heights or in tight spaces
Wear required PPE
Requirements:
Bachelor of Science in Engineering, Engineering Technology (including Manufacturing Technology), Computer Science, Data Science, Mathematics, Physics, or Chemistry
1+ year of related work experience or equivalent combination of education and experience
Strong problem-solving, communication, and process improvement skills
Passion for hands-on collaboration with production teams
Commitment to safety, quality, and efficiency
Must be a U.S. Citizen (as defined by ITAR).
Preferred Qualifications:
Mid-Level: 3+ years of related experience
Senior-Level: 5+ years of related experience
Hands-on experience as a Pressure Vessel Design Engineer (3+ years)
Knowledge of ASME Section VIII, NBIC Parts 1 4, and piping codes such as ASME B31.1/B31.3
Strong understanding of pressure vessel fabrication, maintenance, and material mechanics under extreme conditions
Familiarity with non-destructive examination procedures (magnetic particle, ultrasonic testing)
Knowledge of welding procedures and testing requirements
Experience in thermodynamics, fluid mechanics, and autoclave design for composite curing
Design of quick-actuating closures or breech lock door mechanisms
3D modeling (5+ years) and GD&T experience (5+ years)
Project management experience and production environment familiarity
