Job Type: Contract (12 months with potential for extension)
Shift: 2nd
OT/DOT Expected: Possible overtime up to 20%
Clearance: Ability to obtain U.S. Secret Security Clearance (interim or final post-start). U.S. Citizenship required. Special Program Access or other government access requirements may apply.

Summary:
Apply chemistry, physics, and materials science to develop and qualify composite materials and processing methods
Provide technical evaluation and support for composite part fabrication
Perform root-cause investigations and implement corrective and preventive actions for material and process issues
Create and execute test plans, write reports, and contribute to material, tool, and process specifications
Qualify and approve equipment, materials, and processes
Guide material testing in the Materials & Processes Laboratory
Coordinate with other disciplines, including Design, Production, Manufacturing, Quality, and Procurement
Travel to suppliers as needed
Integrate new technologies and promote standardization across product lines
Manage test/audit programs, ensuring regulatory and contractual compliance, and incorporate EHS, LEAN, and Quality principles
Requirements:

Bachelor of Science in Engineering, Engineering Technology (including Manufacturing Engineering Technology), Chemistry, Physics, Mathematics, Data Science, or Computer Science
Bachelor s degree plus 2+ years of experience or Master s degree
Preferred Experience:
1+ years working with composites, elastomers, and associated processing techniques
Hands-on lab experience with polymer chemistry analytical techniques
Familiarity with materials such as epoxy, cyanate ester, bismaleimide, urethane, polyimide, reinforcements, and adhesives
Experience with composite failure modes (structural and nonstructural) and failure analysis
Experience in technical specifications, reports, and test plans
Comfortable reading engineering drawings and using Microsoft Office
Experience creating and delivering technical presentations and briefings
Ability to work collaboratively in a team-based environment
