Industrial Engineer — Drive Efficiency and Performance for High Impact Aerospace Programs

Type: Full-Time, 6+ Month Contract
Schedule: Monday–Friday; Variable shifts as needed (1st & 2nd)
Pay Range: Starting at $54 to $64 per hour
Work Environment: 100% Onsite
PDS Tech Commercial is seeking an Industrial Engineer to support a major leader in the aerospace industry on a high visibility fleet program. In this fast paced, high pressure environment, you will apply core Industrial Engineering methodologies to optimize production flow, improve scheduling accuracy, and enhance overall operational performance. Your work will directly influence program timelines, cost efficiency, and quality outcomes.
As an Industrial Engineer, you will contribute to critical planning, scheduling, and process improvement initiatives. Your day to day responsibilities will include:
Developing precedence networks and schedules for production milestones.
Supporting operational planning, barge schedules, data analytics, and constraint-based scheduling activities.
Creating weekly and bi weekly operating and recovery plans, including crew cycling and capacity analysis.
Using engineering methods (mathematical modeling, simulations, statistics) to support optimal process design and resource utilization.
Conducting data-driven evaluations of staffing, production impacts, historical trends, and workflow effectiveness.
Identifying opportunities to improve schedule performance, lower costs, and enhance quality.
Coordinating with multi-functional teams, including operations, planning, and engineering.
Entering aircraft via ladders or stairs and working in operational environments requiring walking and standing.
Bachelor of Science degree in Industrial Engineering or related STEM field (ABET accredited).
2–5 years of experience in project planning, scheduling, or project management.
2–5 years of Industrial Engineering or Production Engineering experience in a factory/manufacturing environment.
Familiarity with manufacturing operations, engineering drawings, specifications, and lean concepts.
Experience with programming languages such as Python, SAS, VBA, or SQL.
Ability to work onsite and support variable shifts as needed.
This position requires use of information or access to facilities subject to the International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR) and/or Export Administration Regulations (EAR). These regulations may limit access of controlled technologies: 1) to U.S. Persons, including U.S. Citizens, lawful permanent residents, and other narrow categories including refugees and asylees, or 2) to certain foreign nationals that have received an export license.
Experience with tools such as Aurora or IVT/Redars.
Background in production analysis or operations research.
Lean certifications or relevant training.
