Maintenance Engineer – Drive Mission-Critical Reliability in Aerospace Operations

PDS Tech Commercial is seeking an experienced Maintenance Engineer to support a leading innovator in the aerospace industry. This full-time, 7 month consulting role offers the opportunity to make a measurable impact on aircraft reliability, readiness, and maintenance optimization for critical aerospace programs.

Location: Oklahoma City, OK
Schedule: Monday–Friday, 1st Shift (7:30 AM–4:30 PM)
Pay Rate: Starting at $56.09 per hour

About the Role

In this role, you will support a specialized engineering capability team, working alongside internal engineers and contractors to meet NAVAIR Reliability Centered Maintenance (RCM) and Conditioned Based Maintenance Plus (CBM+) requirements. Your expertise will guide maintenance strategy development, data-driven decision-making, and program compliance.

This is a high-impact position supporting fleet readiness, operational safety, and maintenance efficiency across multiple aerospace programs.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead a team of Maintenance Engineers performing NAVAIR RCM and CBM+ tasks.

  • Conduct detailed RCM studies following NAVAIR and SAE JA1011/JA1012 standards.

  • Analyze system functions, failure modes, effects, and consequences to define optimized maintenance strategies.

  • Utilize FMECA and other reliability data as inputs to RCM processes.

  • Prepare clear and concise RCM reports with findings, recommendations, and supporting data.

  • Recommend preventive, predictive, and corrective maintenance tasks.

  • Evaluate maintenance task effectiveness, feasibility, and cost implications.

  • Support development of maintenance plans and schedules based on RCM outcomes.

  • Gather and analyze operational, failure, and maintenance data from multiple sources.

  • Validate and refine RCM recommendations using reliability and failure data.

  • Support root cause analysis and investigations when needed.

Required Qualifications

  • Experience with NAVAIR RCM and CBM+ processes.

  • Experience with NAVAIR policies, DoD requirements, and industry best practices.

  • Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings.

  • Experience reviewing technical manuals (Tech Orders, IPCs, maintenance manuals, etc.)

  • This position requires use of information or access to facilities subject to the International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR) and/or Export Administration Regulations (EAR). These regulations may limit access of controlled technologies: 1) to U.S. Persons, including U.S. Citizens, lawful permanent residents, and other narrow categories including refugees and asylees, or 2) to certain foreign nationals that have received an export license. 

  •  Must be eligible to obtain a Security Clearance.                                             
     

Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree or higher in a related technical field.

  • Certified Reliability Engineer (CRE) – ASQ.

  • RCM Practitioner Certification.

  • Completion of NAVAIR or DoD-specific RCM training courses.

  • Experience with GOLD, REDARS, and Haystack.

  • Experience with commercial and military aircraft systems and modifications.

  • Familiarity with military and commercial maintenance publications, overhaul manuals, wiring diagrams, and instructions for continued airworthiness.

  • Working knowledge of electrical, mechanical, and systems engineering disciplines.

Education / Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree plus 5+ years of engineering experience,
    or Master’s degree plus 3+ years,
    or PhD with relevant engineering experience.

  • Degree in engineering, computer science, mathematics, physics, or chemistry from an accredited program (ABET preferred).

Pay Details: $56.09 per hour
