Schedule: Monday–Friday, 6:30 AM–3:00 PM (1st Shift)
Pay Rate starting at : $43.98 per hour
PDS Tech Commercial is seeking an experienced Equipment and Tool Engineer to support our client, a leading organization in the aerospace industry. In this hands-on production engineering role, you will play a critical part in improving processes, developing tooling solutions, and supporting safe, efficient operations on the production floor.

You will be deeply engaged in the production environment, regularly interacting with mechanics, safety teams, tool makers, and engineering groups. Daily responsibilities include:
On the Production Floor
Spend extended periods on your feet (up to 8 hours), walking and standing.
Climb ladders, work at heights, and navigate tight spaces to access equipment.
Utilize required PPE and support safety standards.
Engineering Responsibilities
Investigate and develop equipment and tooling concepts that support aerospace build requirements.
Lead tool liaison activities to support fabrication, installation, and production use.
Participate in design reviews, gather requirements, and create or revise drawings and 3D models.
Draft specifications and purchase requests for new tooling and equipment.
Verify compliance with safety, maintainability, producibility, reliability, ergonomics, and regulatory standards.
Develop usage instructions, inspection protocols, and preventive maintenance plans.
Support training content for tool and equipment users.
Manage budgets, timelines, and deliverables for tooling and equipment projects.
Bachelor of Science in Engineering, Engineering Technology, Computer Science, Data Science, Mathematics, Physics, or Chemistry.
1 or more years of relevant professional experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
This position requires use of information or access to facilities subject to the International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR) and/or Export Administration Regulations (EAR). These regulations may limit access of controlled technologies: 1) to U.S. Persons, including U.S. Citizens, lawful permanent residents, and other narrow categories including refugees and asylees, or 2) to certain foreign nationals that have received an export license.
2–5+ years of engineering experience in a production environment.
Mid-Level: 3+ years related experience.
Senior-Level: 5+ years related experience.
3+ years of hands-on experience as a Pressure Vessel Design Engineer.
Knowledge and application of pressure vessel codes (ASME Section VIII, ASME/ANSI codes).
Strong understanding of NBIC codes Parts 1–4.
Familiarity with piping codes (ASME B31.1, B31.3).
Deep understanding of material behavior under extreme temperature and vibration conditions.
Experience with non-destructive testing (NDT) such as ultrasonic testing or magnetic particle examination.
Welding procedure knowledge.
Strong background in thermodynamics and fluid mechanics.
Experience designing autoclaves for composite curing processes.
Quick-acting closure or breech lock mechanism design experience.
5+ years of 3D modeling experience.
5+ years of GD&T experience.
Education/experience typically acquired through advanced technical education (Bachelor’s or Master’s) in engineering, computer science, mathematics, physics, or chemistry from an accredited program. ABET accreditation preferred but not required.
