Manufacturing Engineer
PDS Tech Commercial is seeking an experienced Manufacturing Engineer to support a major aviation program in San Antonio, TX. In this high impact role, you will drive producibility, optimize build plans, and support advanced engineering solutions that directly influence aircraft performance, reliability, and manufacturability.
As a Level 3 Manufacturing Engineer (Assembly & Installation), you will serve as an SME within Integrated Product Teams, taking ownership of complex producibility analyses, design integration, and build plan optimization. Your work ensures that engineering designs translate into efficient, accurate, and high quality production processes. This role is ideal for those who enjoy solving technical challenges, improving processes, and supporting cross functional collaboration across engineering and manufacturing.
• Analyze and refine product development, producibility studies, and tooling philosophies.
• Develop conceptual build designs and manage the program architecture for production.
• Create, validate, and optimize manufacturing plans across production phases.
• Serve as a project manager ensuring contract requirements, specifications, and schedules are aligned.
• Support advanced design solutions and research for new product opportunities.
• Deploy Lean Enterprise analysis methods and document producibility best practices.
• Lead and implement design/build plan changes while minimizing disruption and maximizing benefit.
• Integrate and manage engineering design changes tied to Build Integration milestones.
• Build strong partnerships with customers, stakeholders, peers, and suppliers to achieve program goals.
• Develop installation planning and support shipside installation planning in San Antonio.
• Participate in process and tool improvement initiatives to support team performance.
• Bachelor’s degree (ABET preferred) in engineering, computer science, mathematics, physics, or chemistry, plus 5+ years of related experience, OR an equivalent combination of education and experience.
• 2–3+ years of experience reading and interpreting engineering drawings, blueprints, schematics, and specifications.
• 2–3+ years supporting the development of engineering technical data packages for aircraft parts/components.
• 2–3+ years of experience using professional/technical writing skills to support technical issue resolution.
• Experience with CATIA.
• Ability to work variable shifts (1st & 2nd) based on business needs.
This position requires use of information or access to facilities subject to the International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR) and/or Export Administration Regulations (EAR). These regulations may limit access of controlled technologies: 1) to U.S. Persons, including U.S. Citizens, lawful permanent residents, and other narrow categories including refugees and asylees, or 2) to certain foreign nationals that have received an export license.
• 2–3+ years of experience with IVT.
• Experience with GoldEsp.
• Previous manufacturing engineering experience in the aviation industry.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite.

• Job Type: Full-Time Consultant (9 Month Contract)
• Schedule: Monday–Friday; variable 1st & 2nd shifts
• Pay Rate: Starting at $53.26 per hour
