Pay Rate: $54 to $67 per hour
PDS Tech Commercial is seeking an experienced Systems Engineer to support a major aerospace program’s Systems Engineering & Integration (SE&I) team. In this high impact role, you will contribute to system architecture, requirements development, verification & validation, and safety compliance—ensuring complex aircraft systems meet rigorous technical and certification standards.
You will work alongside multidisciplinary engineering teams to support safe, reliable, and innovative aircraft system solutions that directly influence the future of aerospace design.
As a Systems Engineer, you will lead and support system-level activities throughout the engineering lifecycle, including:
Lead requirements definition, decomposition, and allocation from aircraft level to system and item levels.
Support development and maintenance of functional and logical system architectures.
Guide item design and implementation, ensuring full traceability to higher-level requirements.
Conduct and support safety assessments including FHA, PSSA, SSA, CMA, and FMEA/FMES.
Ensure compliance with certification frameworks such as ARP4754A, ARP4761, DO 178C, and DO 254.
Prepare technical documentation and support interactions with certification authorities (FAA/EASA).
Plan and execute V&V activities across the V model, from item verification to aircraft level validation.
Participate in system reviews, audits, technical interchange meetings, and engineering troubleshooting.
Support cross-functional investigations and resolve issues related to system performance and integration.
Engage with software, hardware, safety, and test engineering teams to ensure integrated system development.
Contribute expertise during design reviews and technical discussions across multiple engineering disciplines.
Bachelor’s degree in Systems Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, Electrical/Computer Engineering, or related field.
5+ years of experience in systems engineering within aerospace, automotive, or complex system domains.
Hands-on experience with Systems Engineering V Diagram processes (requirements, design, implementation, verification, validation).
Strong knowledge of safety assessment methodologies (FHA, PSSA, SSA, CMA, FMEA/FMES).
Familiarity with certification standards including ARP4754A, ARP4761, DO 178C, and DO 254.
Strong analytical skills, excellent technical writing, and ability to work within multidisciplinary teams.
This position requires use of information or access to facilities subject to the International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR) and/or Export Administration Regulations (EAR). These regulations may limit access of controlled technologies: 1) to U.S. Persons, including U.S. Citizens, lawful permanent residents, and other narrow categories including refugees and asylees, or 2) to certain foreign nationals that have received an export license.
Experience with requirements management tools such as DOORS.
System modeling experience (SysML/UML using Cameo or similar tools).
Background in test planning, integration, and system-level validation.
Knowledge of aircraft design, development, and certification processes.
