Summary:
Assist in developing, integrating, and documenting structural and interior payload system requirements to establish system design.
Support testing activities to validate and verify systems and components meet design requirements and specifications.
Coordinate with suppliers to manage performance, testing, and production activities while optimizing designs to meet program goals.
Provide engineering support to the IRC production floor, particularly during first-of or complex builds.
Assist in developing new design and analysis processes, tools, and methodologies to improve efficiency and quality.
Support evaluation of emerging technologies and concepts for future product designs.
Develop, maintain, and modify payload system and component designs using 3D CAD tools and other design methods.
Requirements:
Bachelor s or Master s degree in Mechanical or Aerospace Engineering from an accredited institution.
9+ years of related engineering experience, or equivalent combination of education and experience (Bachelor s + 9 years, Master s + 7 years).
5+ years of experience with 3D CAD modeling tools, such as Autodesk Inventor, CATIA, SOLIDWORKS, SketchUp, Pro-E, or 3DEXPERIENCE.
Experience working within cross-functional engineering and production teams.
Must be a U.S. Citizen (as defined by ITAR).
Preferred Qualifications:
9+ years of aerospace engineering design experience, including engineering release processes.
Strong problem-solving and critical thinking skills.
Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite.
Ability to meet program milestones and delivery schedules.
Knowledge of FAA Title 14 Part 25 and/or equivalent EASA certification requirements.
