Summary:
Investigate and develop equipment and tooling concepts to support aerospace manufacturing requirements.
Support tool fabrication and production usage through tool liaison activities.
Participate in design reviews, gather design requirements, and create or revise engineering drawings and 3D models.
Develop equipment and tooling specifications and purchase requests for vendor procurement.
Verify designs comply with safety, reliability, maintainability, producibility, ergonomic, and regulatory requirements.
Develop inspection procedures, usage instructions, and preventative maintenance plans.
Support development of user training documentation for equipment and tooling systems.
Manage project budgets and schedules to deliver tooling and equipment solutions.
Requirements:
Bachelor s degree in Engineering, Engineering Technology, Computer Science, Data Science, Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry, or a related technical field.
1+ year of related engineering experience, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Must be a U.S. Citizen (as defined by ITAR).
Preferred Qualifications:
2+ years working in a production or manufacturing environment and/or project management experience.
3+ years experience as a Pressure Vessel Design Engineer.
Knowledge of pressure vessel and piping codes (ASME Section VIII, ASME/ANSI, NBIC Parts 1 4, ASME B31.1/B31.3).
Understanding of pressure vessel fabrication, material mechanics, thermodynamics, and fluid mechanics.
Familiarity with non-destructive testing methods (magnetic particle, ultrasonic) and welding procedures.
Experience designing autoclaves for composite curing or quick-acting/breech lock closures.
5+ years experience with 3D modeling and GD&T.
