Location: Savannah, GA | Schedule: 7am to 5:30pm | Payrate: $80.52/hour

PDS Tech Commercial is partnering with a leading company in the aerospace industry to hire a highly experienced Principal Aerospace Engineer to lead complex engineering initiatives that support cutting-edge aerospace programs. This role is designed for a seasoned professional who thrives on solving critical technical challenges and driving innovation in a high-impact environment.

As a Senior Engineer, you will be responsible for guiding major engineering projects, making authoritative technical decisions, and developing innovative solutions where existing engineering precedents may not exist. Your expertise will help shape engineering standards, optimize product performance, and support the successful delivery of advanced aerospace technologies.


Role Overview

The Engineer works on engineering projects involving complex and critical challenges that require advanced technical expertise and innovative problem-solving. This role leads major engineering initiatives, develops new technical concepts, and applies advanced engineering principles to drive program success.


Day-to-Day Responsibilities

  • Lead engineering projects of significant complexity within established program scope

  • Make technical decisions and recommendations that influence major engineering activities and project outcomes

  • Apply advanced engineering principles, theories, and concepts based on deep technical expertise

  • Develop innovative engineering ideas, solutions, and methodologies

  • Identify and implement improved processes or procedures to optimize product performance, cost, and schedule objectives

  • Work with minimal supervision while exercising independent engineering judgment

  • Develop engineering standards, technical guidelines, and best practices for diverse engineering activities

  • Investigate complex technical issues in areas where established engineering precedents may not exist

  • Plan and conduct engineering studies and technical investigations that support critical program requirements

  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure engineering objectives are met

  • Provide technical leadership and mentorship across engineering initiatives

  • Perform additional duties as required to support program and organizational goals


Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or a related technical discipline, or an equivalent combination of education and experience

  • 13 years of experience in a specific technical discipline or 15 years of broad engineering experience across multiple disciplines with a bachelor’s degree

  • Demonstrated ability to lead complex engineering projects and make high-impact technical decisions

  • Deep understanding of advanced engineering principles, concepts, and methodologies

  • Proven ability to solve complex technical problems and develop innovative solutions

  • Strong analytical, communication, and problem-solving skills

  • Ability to work independently and exercise sound engineering judgment


Preferred Qualifications

  • Master’s or PhD in Engineering or a related technical discipline

    • Experience credit may be applied for advanced degrees (up to 2 years for a Master’s and up to 4 years for a PhD in relevant fields)

  • Experience developing engineering standards, processes, or technical frameworks

  • Experience leading large-scale engineering investigations or innovation initiatives

  • Background in aerospace engineering environments or complex technical industries

Pay Details: $80.52 per hour
