PDS Tech Commercial is partnering with a leader in the aerospace industry to hire a skilled Logistics Specialist to support advanced manufacturing and distribution operations. This role is essential to ensuring that materials move efficiently through the supply chain to support production schedules, service centers, and customer demands.
As a Logistics Specialist, you will play a key role in managing inventory, coordinating material movement, and maintaining accurate documentation in a fast-paced aerospace environment. Your attention to detail and commitment to safety and quality will help ensure that critical parts are delivered where they are needed—on time and with complete accuracy.
Role Overview
The Logistics Specialist performs advanced material handling, inventory coordination, and distribution tasks to support complex aerospace manufacturing operations. This role involves managing inventory systems, operating material handling equipment, and ensuring compliance with safety, quality, and regulatory standards while helping improve logistics processes.
Day-to-Day Responsibilities
Process pick tickets and material requests by pulling, issuing, and transporting parts for manufacturing, service centers, spare parts sales, backshops, and distribution centers
Operate material handling equipment and company vehicles to move materials between departments and designated locations
Unload incoming freight, inspect shipments, and document deliveries
Maintain accurate inventory records through proper data entry in systems such as SAP or other ERP platforms
Coordinate material flow to meet production schedules and urgent requirements such as Aircraft on Ground (AOG) situations
Use handheld scanners to support picking, putaway, and cycle count activities
Perform regular cycle counts to maintain inventory accuracy and support inventory control goals
Handle and prepare shipments of Dangerous Goods in accordance with DOT, FAA, and other regulatory requirements
Identify and communicate discrepancies in inventory or shipments and ensure proper follow-up
Maintain a clean and organized work environment while following all safety procedures
Participate in process improvement, Lean, and sustainability initiatives
Assist with inventory audits and logistics documentation
Support additional logistics activities such as DOT compliance, Hazmat handling, special offloads, and customs or carrier requirements
Required Qualifications
High School Diploma or GED
At least 1 year of experience in inventory, logistics, or material handling
Forklift experience (sit-down or upright)
Experience using ERP systems such as SAP or similar inventory management software
Experience handling materials, transfers, and kitting processes
Experience working in an onsite freezer or controlled storage environment
Ability to obtain certification to operate forklifts and other material handling equipment
Valid driver’s license
Ability to lift up to 50 pounds
Ability to read, write, speak, and understand English
Ability to comply with FAA regulations and quality documentation procedures
Willingness to work various shifts and weekends as required
Preferred Qualifications
Proficiency with inventory management systems and Microsoft Office
Experience with handheld scanners for warehouse operations
Familiarity with DOT, Hazmat, and regulatory shipping requirements
Experience supporting manufacturing or aerospace logistics operations
