Location: Tulsa, OK | Schedule: 1st shift 7:18 am to 3:48 pm | Payrate: $55 - $59/hour 
 

PDS Tech Commercial is partnering with a leading company in the aerospace industry to hire a skilled Structures Installation Mechanic. This is an exciting opportunity to contribute to the precision assembly and installation of structural components that play a critical role in modern aircraft systems. 

In this role, you will work hands-on with advanced tools, drawings, and specifications to assemble and install structural and system components with precision. Your attention to detail and commitment to quality will help ensure aircraft structures meet the highest engineering and safety standards. 

 
 

Role Overview 

The Structures Installation Mechanic is responsible for assembling, installing, sealing, rigging, and inspecting precision structural components and systems. Working from engineering drawings, work instructions, and process specifications, you will ensure assemblies meet fit, form, and functional requirements while supporting efficient manufacturing operations. 

 
 

Day-to-Day Responsibilities 

  • Assemble, install, seal, rig, and inspect structural and system components according to engineering drawings, specifications, and established procedures 

  • Obtain required information from prints, charts, sketches, work instructions, and electronic or verbal communication 

  • Use shop mathematics, precision measuring tools, and testing instruments to complete assignments and verify assembly functionality 

  • Utilize specialized tooling to assemble components into subassemblies or finished assemblies 

  • Verify that completed work meets engineering specifications and quality requirements and report discrepancies according to procedures 

  • Perform functional testing and adjustments to ensure proper fit, form, and function of assemblies and components 

  • Ensure equipment and tools are properly certified and maintained according to procedures 

  • Perform routine minor machine maintenance as part of daily duties, including basic preventative maintenance tasks 

  • Move products within the immediate manufacturing work area using assigned equipment and complete necessary production transactions 

  • Work within established production schedules to support manufacturing timelines 

  • Support the continuous flow of products through the manufacturing process by assisting and training team members 

  • Assist in training other assembly personnel in installation, assembly, and inspection techniques 

  • Cross-train in inspection processes and work toward SIA qualification 

  • Set up and operate conventional or CNC fastening equipment with less than simultaneous 3-axis movement when required 

 
 

Specialty Skills May Include 

  • Structural assembly and installation 

  • Sealing and fillet seal application 

  • Sub-assembly and precision bench assembly 

  • Assembly and installation of doors and structural components 

  • Integral fuel cell sealing 

  • Electrical bond installation 

  • Pressure and vacuum testing 

 
 

Required Qualifications 

  • Experience performing structural assembly or installation in a manufacturing or aerospace environment 

  • Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings, work instructions, and technical documentation 

  • Experience using precision measuring tools and testing equipment 

  • Knowledge of shop mathematics and assembly procedures 

  • Experience with fillet seal application and electrical bonding 

  • Ability to follow strict quality control and process specifications 

  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to safety and quality 

 
 

Preferred Qualifications 

  • Experience performing rework on aerospace structural components 

  • Familiarity with integral fuel cell sealing and structural door assembly 

  • Experience operating conventional or CNC fastening equipment 

  • SIA qualification or willingness to obtain it 

  • Experience with pressure and vacuum testing procedures 

  • Previous experience in aerospace manufacturing or aircraft structures

Pay Details: $55.00 to $59.00 per hour
