Supply Chain Specialist 2

Description:
Chipton-Ross is seeking a Supply Chain Specialist 2 for a contract opportunity in Newport News. VA.

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS (REQUIRED SKILLS/EXPERIENCE):
• Bachelors Degree and 3 years of experience. Masters Degree and 1 year of experience. 4 years of related exempt experience can be substituted for Bachelors degree. 8 years of non-related exempt experience can be substituted for Bachelors degree. An Apprentice Certificate or graduation from Navy Nuclear Power School can be substituted for Bachelors degree.
Must have experience in the following:
• Meet with subject matter experts to develop specialized buyer training modules
• Create or enhance trainings for the department
• Voice over training modules
• Assist with scheduling and coordination of in person trainings
• Purchasing a high volume and variety of materials, supplies and services.
• Evaluating bids, selecting and recommending suppliers and negotiating price, delivery, quality and service.
• Following up on all awards until completion of order. Negotiating and settling with suppliers regarding damage claims, rejections, losses, return of materials, over shipments, cancellations and engineering changes.
• Conducting supplier site visits and rating them as to production capability, performance and delivery.
• Strong writing and editing skills.
• Ability to simplify complex processes into understandable steps.
• Ability to coordinate with subject matter experts.

POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES:
• This position will support the training team, developing training modules for incoming supply chain specialists.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS (DESIRED SKILLS/EXPERIENCE):
• Some procurement experience preferred but not required

REQUIRED EDUCATION:
Bachelor's degree is required.
School must be accredited.

WORK HOURS:
5/40, First Shift 7:30AM-4:00 PM
