Summary:
Set up and operate manual and CNC machine tools to produce precision parts and assemblies
Interpret blueprints, sketches, and engineering specifications to determine sequence of operations and tooling requirements
Perform standard shop calculations for dimensions, tooling, feeds, and speeds
Measure, mark, and scribe stock for machining using precision measuring instruments (calipers, micrometers, height gauges, etc.)
Fit and assemble precision parts into mechanical assemblies and determine necessary materials, tools, and equipment
Monitor and verify part quality using statistical process control (SPC) or other quality control procedures
Operate and maintain a variety of hand tools, machine tools, and precision instruments
Perform routine inspections of finished parts to ensure compliance with specifications and tolerances
Collaborate with engineering and production teams to troubleshoot machining issues and improve processes
Requirements:
Training will be provided to enable employees to perform all necessary functions
Some tasks may involve monitoring and adjusting CNC machines or performing quality checks throughout the production process
Commitment to safety and proper machine operation is essential
Completion of a formal apprenticeship in machining or equivalent training and experience
Experience with manual and CNC machining preferred
Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings, blueprints, and schematics
Proficiency with precision measuring instruments and shop mathematics
Familiarity with standard machinist tools and techniques
Strong attention to detail and commitment to producing high-quality work
Must be a U.S. Citizen (as defined by ITAR).
