Mechanical Technician

Pay Rate starting at : $27.67 per hour
PDS Tech Commercial is seeking a skilled Mechanical Technician to support a leading organization in the aerospace industry. In this hands on role, you will partner closely with mechanical engineers to develop, fabricate, modify, and test mechanical and electromechanical components used in next generation aerospace systems. Your work will directly support prototype development, performance testing, and engineering refinement—making this a key position within the product development lifecycle.
Assist engineers with the development of mechanical and electromechanical designs, assemblies, and components.
Draft detailed fabrication drawings based on engineering requirements.
Device, fabricate, modify, and assemble new or updated mechanical components and subassemblies.
Set up, configure, and test complete prototype units and subassemblies under simulated operational conditions.
Collect and analyze test data, identifying performance gaps or opportunities for improvement.
Recommend component modifications or test procedure adjustments to meet engineering specifications.
Support fabrication, assembly, and troubleshooting tasks as part of engineering development activities.
Maintain accurate documentation and follow all established processes and safety procedures.
Education/experience typically acquired through basic education (high school diploma/GED) and related hands on technical experience.
Experience working with mechanical or electromechanical assemblies, components, or testing environments.
Ability to interpret engineering drawings, technical instructions, and detailed specifications.
Skilled in the use of standard hand tools, power tools, precision instruments, and assembly equipment.
Strong analytical skills for reviewing data and recommending engineering improvements.
Ability to work collaboratively with engineers and cross functional teams.
Strong attention to detail and ability to follow established processes and safety standards.
This position requires use of information or access to facilities subject to the International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR) and/or Export Administration Regulations (EAR). These regulations may limit access of controlled technologies: 1) to U.S. Persons, including U.S. Citizens, lawful permanent residents, and other narrow categories including refugees and asylees, or 2) to certain foreign nationals that have received an export license.
Experience supporting prototype builds or engineering development programs.
Background in testing, troubleshooting, or modifying mechanical systems.
Familiarity with electromechanical assemblies, instrumentation, or test environments.
