Assembler – Build High Precision Systems for Advanced Aerospace Programs

Schedule: Monday–Friday | First Shift, 7:00 AM–4:30 PM
Pay Rate Starting at : $27.74 per hour

About the Role

PDS Tech Commercial is seeking an experienced Assembler to support a leader in the aerospace industry. In this role, you will build, assemble, and test mechanical and electronic components that support cutting edge aerospace technologies. Your craftsmanship and precision will directly contribute to the performance, safety, and reliability of critical aerospace systems.

What You’ll Do

• Assemble mechanical components, subassemblies, and full systems using hand and power tools.

• Read and interpret blueprints, schematics, drawings, and Bills of Material (BOMs).

• Align, fit, and adjust parts to ensure proper function, tolerances, and mechanical integrity.

• Install components such as bearings, gears, motors, shafts, conveyors, pneumatics, and hydraulics.

• Perform fabrication tasks including drilling, tapping, grinding, and related operations.

• Conduct quality inspections to verify compliance with specifications and operational standards.

• Troubleshoot mechanical issues and participate in corrective actions.

• Maintain an organized and safe work environment following 5S, OSHA, and company protocols.

• Collaborate regularly with engineering, quality, and production teams to resolve issues and optimize processes.

• Support repetitive and non repetitive production assembly operations on electronic and/or mechanical modules, cables, frames, panels, and prototype units.

Required Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED.

• 1–3+ years of hands on mechanical assembly experience (machinery, industrial equipment, or similar).

• Ability to interpret mechanical drawings, technical instructions, and assembly documents.

• Proficiency with hand and power tools, as well as precision measuring instruments (calipers, micrometers, torque wrenches).

• Basic understanding of mechanical systems, pneumatics, and hydraulics.

• Strong mechanical aptitude and problem solving skills.

• Familiarity with manufacturing techniques including welding, soldering, machining, CNC, and fabrication.

• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs., stand for extended periods, and work in a manufacturing environment with moderate noise levels.

• This position requires use of information or access to facilities subject to the International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR) and/or Export Administration Regulations (EAR). These regulations may limit access of controlled technologies: 1) to U.S. Persons, including U.S. Citizens, lawful permanent residents, and other narrow categories including refugees and asylees, or 2) to certain foreign nationals that have received an export license.                                               
   

Preferred Qualifications

• Technical or vocational training in mechanical technology or a related field.

• Experience in custom machinery, automation, or advanced manufacturing.

• Forklift or overhead crane certification.

• Knowledge of lean manufacturing principles and 5S methodologies.

• Understanding of GD&T (Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerancing).

• Exposure to programmable logic controllers (PLCs) for automation support.

• Willingness to work up to 10 hours of overtime per week.

• Currently engaged in routine strength/conditioning activities (beneficial for physical demands).
