Field Service Technician
Location: Huntington Beach, CA
Type: Full-Time | Consultant (12 Month Contract)
Schedule: Monday–Friday | First Shift, 6:00 AM–2:30 PM
Pay Rate Starting at : $80.01 per hour
PDS Tech Commercial is seeking a highly experienced Field Service Technician to support a leading organization in the aerospace industry. This hands on, technical role is essential to the development, modification, installation, and repair of complex mechanical and structural assemblies. Your expertise will directly support production, engineering development, and precision workmanship—contributing to the performance and reliability of next generation aerospace systems.
Fabricate, assemble, install, troubleshoot, and repair mechanical and structural components.
Use standard hand tools, power tools, precision instruments, and calibrated equipment to perform detailed build tasks.
Execute planned work using work orders, engineering designs, computer models, processes, and procedures.
Maintain accurate documentation of completed work, inspections, and non conformances.
Collaborate closely with engineering teams, providing feedback and recommending design or process improvements.
Perform tasks involving composites, titanium, sheet metal, rivets, wiring, tubing, and fastener installations.
Ensure compliance with all safety procedures, quality standards, and configuration control requirements.
Support development and production environments through hands on mechanical expertise.
Maintain regular, predictable attendance to support operational needs.
Technical diploma, associate degree, or equivalent experience in aircraft maintenance, machine trades, or manufacturing technologies.
15+ years of related experience—or an equivalent combination of education and extensive hands on industry experience.
Strong background working with composites, titanium, sheet metal, riveting, fastening, wiring, tubing, and basic machining.
Ability to interpret drawings, blueprints, and technical data (2D/3D).
Proficiency using tooling such as torque wrenches, countersinks, drills, deburring tools, and other calibrated instruments.
Strong problem solving abilities and attention to detail.
Ability to communicate effectively with engineers and cross functional teams.
Certifications such as A&P or relevant specialty training.
Must be eligible to obtain a Security Clearance.
This position requires use of information or access to facilities subject to the International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR) and/or Export Administration Regulations (EAR). These regulations may limit access of controlled technologies: 1) to U.S. Persons, including U.S. Citizens, lawful permanent residents, and other narrow categories including refugees and asylees, or 2) to certain foreign nationals that have received an export license.
Advanced experience working with precision installations, heavy structure assembly, or prototype build environments.
Experience suggesting process improvements or supporting engineering development tasks.
