PDS Tech Commercial is seeking a Software Engineer – Test & Verification to support a major aerospace and defense organization’s precision engagement systems programs. In this high?impact role, you will own key elements of software configuration management, release planning, and verification activities for mission-critical software systems.
You will support software lifecycle integrity, streamline the release process, and ensure accuracy and accountability across program baselines. This role is ideal for individuals who thrive in structured environments, maintain strong attention to detail, and enjoy driving process consistency across engineering teams.
In this role, you will support software development, release, and verification activities across multiple programs. Responsibilities include:
Lead and manage the Change Control Board (CCB): schedule and facilitate meetings, prepare agendas, record minutes, track actions, and ensure changes are approved prior to implementation.
Maintain CM artifacts including plans, product/document identification schemes, baselines, and traceability records.
Prepare and route change documentation such as Engineering Change Proposals (ECP), Requests for Variance (RFV), and Change Documents/Requests (CD/CRs).
Oversee end-to-end software build and release activities to support program milestones.
Coordinate build pipelines, deployments, release schedules, and configurations.
Manage version control systems, repositories, CI/CD pipelines, and environments.
Troubleshoot environment inconsistencies, resolve release issues, and improve build/release cycle time.
Perform configuration audits and verification to ensure documentation and product baselines remain accurate.
Support export authority determinations and documentation compliance.
Assist in internal and external quality or process audits related to configuration management.
Work directly with customers and stakeholders to align release schedules and program-level CM activities.
Engage with supplier teams to ensure supplier change management aligns with program standards.
Drive process improvements, tooling enhancements, and metric tracking to elevate CM maturity.
Experience with the Software Development Lifecycle (SDLC) and configuration/change management practices.
Familiarity with Atlassian tools (Jira, Confluence).
Proficiency with Microsoft Office tools (Excel, Word, PowerPoint).
1+ years of experience editing PDF and Word files.
This position requires use of information or access to facilities subject to the International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR) and/or Export Administration Regulations (EAR). These regulations may limit access of controlled technologies: 1) to U.S. Persons, including U.S. Citizens, lawful permanent residents, and other narrow categories including refugees and asylees, or 2) to certain foreign nationals that have received an export license.
3+ years of related work experience or equivalent education/experience.
Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Computer Science, Mathematics, Data Science, Physics, or related technical field.
Experience leading or coordinating technical teams.
Experience with version control and build/release tools (e.g., Git, CI/CD).
Prior Configuration Management experience.
Strong communication, organization, and process improvement skills.
Ability to work effectively through formal and informal networks.
