PDS Tech Commercial is seeking an experienced Systems Engineer to support a major aerospace program within a high performance Systems Engineering & Integration (SE&I) team. This role plays a critical part in shaping system architectures, ensuring compliance with safety and certification standards, and driving rigorous requirements development across complex aircraft systems.
You will collaborate with multidisciplinary engineering teams—including hardware, software, safety, and test—to support the full lifecycle of system design, integration, verification, and validation. Your work will directly influence the functionality, safety, and reliability of advanced aerospace products.
As a Systems Engineer, you will support a range of system-level activities that ensure robust system development, certification alignment, and integration performance. Key responsibilities include:
Lead and support requirements definition, decomposition, and allocation from aircraft-level to system and item level.
Develop and maintain system functional and logical architectures.
Ensure alignment with Systems Engineering V Diagram processes per ARP4754A/ARP4761 standards.
Guide item-level design and implementation ensuring complete traceability.
Ensure completion of safety assessments including FHA, PSSA, SSA, CMA, and FMEA/FMES.
Support adherence to certification frameworks such as ARP4754A, ARP4761, DO 178C, and DO 254.
Prepare and support documentation for FAA/EASA certification activities.
Plan and execute V&V activities across the full V model lifecycle.
Support system integration, testing, and aircraft level verification.
Participate in system level troubleshooting, root cause analysis, and technical reviews.
Work closely with hardware, software, safety, manufacturing, and test engineering teams.
Participate in design reviews, audits, technical interchange meetings, and program status discussions.
Bachelor’s degree in Systems Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, Electrical/Computer Engineering, or a related technical field.
5+ years of experience in systems engineering within aerospace, automotive, or complex systems domains.
Hands-on experience with systems engineering lifecycle and V Diagram methodologies.
Knowledge of safety analysis tools and methodologies (FHA, PSSA, SSA, CMA, FMEA/FMES).
Familiarity with certification standards (ARP4754A, ARP4761, DO 178C, DO 254).
Strong analytical skills and ability to work across multidisciplinary engineering teams.
This position requires use of information or access to facilities subject to the International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR) and/or Export Administration Regulations (EAR). These regulations may limit access of controlled technologies: 1) to U.S. Persons, including U.S. Citizens, lawful permanent residents, and other narrow categories including refugees and asylees, or 2) to certain foreign nationals that have received an export license.
Experience with requirements management tools (e.g., DOORS).
System modeling experience (SysML/UML using Cameo or equivalent tools).
Background in integration and test planning.
Knowledge of aircraft design, development, and certification processes.
Interview process: Video interview with two managers
Standard workweek (10x80); potential Saturday support
