Location:  Everett, Seattle, Auburn, and or Renton Washington as well as Portland, Oregon.
Job Type: Full-Time, Consultant (10 Months)
Schedule: Monday–Friday; multiple shifts; may include off shift, weekend, overtime, and travel assignments
Pay Rate: $62 - $76.00 per hour
Work Environment: Fully onsite, factory floor support required

About the Role

PDS Tech Commercial is seeking a highly experienced Liaison Engineer to partner with a premier organization in the aerospace industry. In this role, you will be the engineering presence on the factory floor—bridging design and production to ensure the safe, efficient, and successful build of complex aerospace products. This is a hands-on, high impact position where your technical expertise directly influences product quality, safety, and manufacturability.

What You’ll Do

As a Liaison Engineer, you will serve as the primary engineering representative in a high paced production environment. Your responsibilities will include:

  • Performing root cause analysis and developing dispositions for production non conformances.

  • Applying design and engineering principles to resolve product and process issues across the product lifecycle.

  • Researching technical, operational, and quality concerns to generate final engineering solutions.

  • Identifying, analyzing, and documenting issues that may impact design intent or safety—and driving resolution.

  • Developing and implementing product and process improvements.

  • Supporting Integrated Product Teams (IPT) and participating in design reviews.

  • Representing engineering throughout initial build, production, and post production phases.

  • Ensuring supplier and partner compliance with engineering and manufacturing standards.

  • Preparing customer communications for safe operation and maintenance guidance.

  • Participating in disabled aircraft/product repair teams, accident investigations, and on site support efforts.

  • Conducting analyses for damage repair or structural modifications, including jacking and shoring assessments.

  • Designing interim structural repairs with supporting static strength analysis.

  • Creating non destructive test (NDT) procedures, tools, and standards.

  • Engaging in a structured training rotation program (approx. 9 months) that may include various shifts and site-to-site travel.

This role requires daily exposure to a dynamic factory environment, including stairs, aircraft interiors, trip hazards, high noise areas, and chemical handling.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Engineering from an ABET accredited (or equivalent) program.

  • 9+ years of experience in structures, systems, design, or production engineering.

  • Solid understanding of engineering fundamentals, manufacturing processes, and design principles.

  • Strong communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work closely with production teams.

  • Regular and predictable attendance.

  • This position requires use of information or access to facilities subject to the International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR) and/or Export Administration Regulations (EAR). These regulations may limit access of controlled technologies: 1) to U.S. Persons, including U.S. Citizens, lawful permanent residents, and other narrow categories including refugees and asylees, or 2) to certain foreign nationals that have received an export license.

Preferred Qualifications

  • 9+ years of experience supporting MRB (Material Review Board) activities for aircraft structures or systems.

  • Hands-on experience with materials, tools, and manufacturing processes.

  • Previous MRB certification in an aerospace production environment.

  • Experience in high volume factory or complex product manufacturing settings.
