About the Role
As a Lead Engine Technician, you will be responsible for inspecting, maintaining, troubleshooting, and repairing aircraft engines and auxiliary power units (APUs). Your work will ensure that aircraft engines and related systems meet strict airworthiness standards and are fully prepared for operation.
This role requires strong technical knowledge, attention to detail, and the ability to interpret maintenance documentation while working collaboratively within a professional aviation maintenance team.
Key Responsibilities
Adhere to general work instructions applicable to factory, shop, or hangar environments
Comply with environmental health and safety policies and procedures while participating in 5-S workplace practices
Perform and document maintenance in accordance with approved manuals, technical publications, and regulatory requirements
Inspect engines, APUs, and associated aircraft systems for damage, defects, corrosion, or wear to ensure airworthiness
Interpret maintenance logs and discrepancies (written or verbal) to understand the history and nature of issues, troubleshoot problems, and determine required corrective actions
Recommend repair, replacement, or modification of aircraft engines or APUs based on inspection findings
Perform installation, removal, or modification of turbine engines, APUs, systems, and components using drawings, schematics, engineering orders, and technical publications
Repair worn, defective, or damaged parts or components using appropriate hand tools, gauges, and testing equipment
Research and interpret technical manuals and documentation to perform inspections, installations, and repairs
Conduct and assist with operational checks and functional testing of engines, APUs, and related systems
Install, remove, or modify aircraft structures, systems, and components according to technical documentation
Inspect completed work to ensure maintenance meets standards and procedures and that aircraft are ready for operation
Assist other team members with general aircraft maintenance tasks within areas of qualification
Support Aviation Maintenance Technicians in the operation of ground support equipment such as ground power units, hydraulic mules, and oxygen servicing units
Assist with complete engine runs and off-aircraft component repairs
Perform mechanical and electrical removals and installations
Operate ground support equipment as needed
Perform other duties as assigned
Required Qualifications
FAA Airframe and Powerplant (A&P) License
Minimum of eight (8+) years of aircraft turbine engine line or shop maintenance experience or equivalent
Minimum of two (2) years of experience working on corporate jet aircraft
Demonstrated proficiency performing engine removals and replacements (R&R), borescopes, and detailed maintenance reporting
Ability to read and interpret technical manuals, engineering drawings, and maintenance documentation
Preferred Qualifications
Minimum of one (1) year of experience working on Bombardier aircraft
Strong troubleshooting and diagnostic capabilities related to turbine engines and APUs
Experience working in fast-paced aircraft maintenance environments with a strong focus on safety and quality
