Schedule: Monday–Friday, 6:00 AM–2:30 PM (Variable shift capability required)
Pay Rate Starting : $26 per hour
Type: Full-Time, Consultant (12 Months)
PDS Tech Commercial is seeking a skilled Fabrication Technician to support a leading organization in the aerospace industry. In this role, you’ll contribute directly to the production, assembly, and fabrication of high precision components that play a critical part in advanced aerospace systems. In this role, you will perform a wide range of fabrication, assembly, and mechanical tasks, including:
Set up and operate machinery, welding equipment, and fabrication tools.
Perform machining, welding set-up, welding, sheet metal fabrication, tube bending, and extrusion tasks.
Conduct composite lay-up, fabrication, and assembly operations on precision mechanical and electro-mechanical components.
Assemble, repair, modify, and install various power plants and drive trains.
Solder electronic and avionics products; assemble wire harnesses and avionics hardware.
Prepare test articles, fixtures, and data collection devices for testing.
Perform basic chemical conversion, paint preparation, and apply coatings for corrosion protection and appearance.
Work from established drawings, instructions, and requirements for articles of limited complexity.
Maintain regular and predictable attendance.
High School Diploma or GED.
Typically 1+ years of related experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
Ability to work variable shifts as required by business needs.
Ability to lift 10–35 lbs and meet physical demands including bending, kneeling, climbing, overhead reaching, twisting, crawling, and standing for extended periods.
Ability to work with high hazard chemicals.
Ability to complete and maintain Confined Space and Fall Protection certifications.
1+ years of experience using software applications such as internet navigation, email, and Microsoft Suite.
1+ years of experience following detailed work instructions and interpreting blueprints, drawings, or specifications in English.
1+ years of experience applying mathematical calculations.
1+ years of experience working with basic hand, power, and pneumatic tools.
1+ years of experience in manufacturing, fabrication, or assembly environments.
This position requires use of information or access to facilities subject to the International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR) and/or Export Administration Regulations (EAR). These regulations may limit access of controlled technologies: 1) to U.S. Persons, including U.S. Citizens, lawful permanent residents, and other narrow categories including refugees and asylees, or 2) to certain foreign nationals that have received an export license.
Experience with conventional material lay-up and precision measuring tools.
Proficiency with power, pneumatic, and hand tools.
CNC experience.
Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings, schematics, specifications, and material process documents in English.
Successful completion of 8–10 weeks of training (OJT or classroom).
Three failed assessments result in release from the assignment.
