JOB TITLE: Supplier Quality Engineer

Summary:

Ensure proper flow-down of product requirements internally and to sub-tier suppliers through purchase orders, quality notes, and statements of work.

Conduct source inspections at critical manufacturing stages to verify proper fabrication and assembly.

Investigate supplier-related defects impacting production or assembly lines.

Implement inspection plans and containment strategies when quality issues arise.

Plan and conduct supplier audits and assessments covering systems, special processes, and product quality.

Document and report audit findings and assessment results.

Represent quality during review boards related to:

Supplier design changes

Process changes

Qualification testing

Procedure updates

Analyze supplier performance data and develop improvement plans to reduce nonconformance rates.

Apply Lean and Six Sigma methodologies to improve supplier quality and delivery performance.

Evaluate supplier capability and capacity for current and future program work.

Drive supplier performance to meet or exceed established quality and delivery metrics.

Provide training and coaching to suppliers on quality systems, regulatory requirements, and company initiatives.

Analyze nonconformance trends to assess the effectiveness of corrective actions.

Support development and maintenance of supplier quality scorecards.

Requirements:

Bachelor s degree in Engineering or Business preferred, or 6+ years of related experience in a manufacturing environment, or an equivalent combination of education, Supplier Quality Engineering experience, and ASQ certifications.

Experience supporting composites and assembly manufacturing.

Prior Special Process auditing experience and knowledge of NADCAP certification.

Working knowledge of quality systems and standards including:

ISO 9001 / AS9100

AS9145 (APQP & PPAP)

AS9102 First Article Inspection (FAI)

Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and specifications.

General knowledge of industry technical standards (e.g., ANSI, ASTM, CMMI).

Strong technical background with the ability to influence cross-functional teams.

Excellent written and verbal communication and presentation skills.

Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.

Self-motivated and able to work independently with minimal supervision.

Up to one week per month travel to supplier locations.

Must be a U.S. Citizen (as defined by ITAR).
