Software Engineer – Drive Innovation in Secure Aerospace Technology

PDS Tech Commercial is seeking an experienced Software Engineer – Developer to support our partner, a recognized leader in the aerospace industry, in developing cutting edge secure computing solutions. This high impact role supports advanced hardware and software systems that enable the next generation of aerospace technology.

Position Overview

Job Title: Software Engineer – Developer
Job Type: Full-Time; Consultant (6 Months)
Location: Pleasanton, CA
Schedule: Monday–Friday | 9:00 AM–5:30 PM
Pay Rate Starting at : $73.89 per hour

In this senior-level, non managerial role, you will contribute to an Integrated Product Team focused on designing and delivering secure software and hardware solutions for both commercial and aerospace applications. This position involves minimal supervision and offers the opportunity to take technical ownership of complex, high visibility work.

What You’ll Do

• Lead the development, documentation, and maintenance of software architectures, requirements, algorithms, interfaces, and design components
• Lead the creation, development, and integration of complex software modules into fully functional software systems
• Develop software verification plans, test procedures, and test environments
• Execute test procedures and document results to confirm compliance with software system requirements
• Work with minimal direction, independently driving tasks to completion
• Maintain regular and predictable attendance

Required Qualifications

• Experience with testing frameworks such as XUnit and Pytest
• Strong proficiency in Python scripting
• Experience evaluating and analyzing software performance
• Experience debugging software for database, gRPC integration, and network interfaces
• Experience using bug tracking and source control systems

This position requires use of information or access to facilities subject to the International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR) and/or Export Administration Regulations (EAR). These regulations may limit access of controlled technologies: 1) to U.S. Persons, including U.S. Citizens, lawful permanent residents, and other narrow categories including refugees and asylees, or 2) to certain foreign nationals that have received an export license.                                               

Preferred Skills

• Experience developing and debugging software with high-level programming languages such as C# and C++
• Experience developing embedded software for ARM processors
• Familiarity with computer and information security principles
• Familiarity with Intel processor architectures

Education / Experience

• Bachelor’s degree with 9 or more years of relevant experience
OR
• Master’s degree with 7 or more years of relevant experience

Degrees may be in engineering, computer science, mathematics, physics, or chemistry.
ABET accreditation preferred but not required.
