Financial Analyst – Support High?Impact Military Cost Estimating Programs

PDS Tech Commercial is seeking a detail?driven Financial Analyst to support a leading aerospace organization through complex military cost estimating and proposal development. This fully remote role is ideal for a highly analytical professional who excels at financial modeling, data reconciliation, cross?functional collaboration, and supporting strategic business decisions.

Role Summary

As a Financial Analyst, you will develop cost estimates, financial returns, and proposal documentation that support both internal decision?making and customer negotiations. Your work will directly impact contract strategy, pricing accuracy, and the financial success of programs within the Landing Gear Military Estimating group.

What You’ll Do

• Develop proposals and financial analysis for development, production, and spare part quotes.
• Provide accurate cost?estimating data to support customer fact?finding and proposal development.
• Build detailed cost proposals in Microsoft Excel, compiling all required supporting data.
• Analyze bills of material, purchase order data, supplier quotes, manufacturing routings, and overhead rates.
• Reconcile prior?year estimates with forward?looking proposals to ensure consistency and alignment.
• Document assumptions, risks, and benefits associated with each proposal.
• Produce financial return analyses, termination/liability assessments, and expenditure analyses.
• Prepare written proposal summaries outlining assumptions, risks, and strategic considerations.
• Coordinate with global cross?functional teams such as Design & Manufacturing Engineering, Supply Chain, Operations, and Program Management.
• Provide margin analyses to support program negotiations and financial planning.
• Support customer and government auditor fact?finding inquiries.
• Participate in continuous improvement initiatives to enhance cost?estimating efficiency and accuracy.
• Prioritize tasks independently and manage a high volume of proposals with accuracy and timeliness.

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Business, Engineering, or related field.
• Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret complex data sets.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and financial modeling.
• Ability to work independently, manage priorities, and meet tight deadlines.
• Strong written communication skills for proposal summaries and assumption documentation.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with cost estimating, government proposals, or defense/aerospace financial analysis.
• Familiarity with bills of material, purchase order data, supplier quoting, or manufacturing cost structures.
• Experience supporting auditor or fact?finding reviews.
• Previous involvement in continuous improvement or process enhancement initiatives.

Position Details

• Job Title: Financial Analyst
• Employment Type: Full-time; Consultant (12 months)
• Location: Remote
• Schedule: Monday–Friday, 8:00 AM–5:00 PM
• Pay Rate: $34.17 per hour
• This position requires use of information or access to facilities subject to the International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR) and/or Export Administration Regulations (EAR).
