Cable and Harness Technician
Location: Gilbert, AZ
Job Type: Full-Time, 12-Month Consultant Assignment
Schedule: Monday–Friday, 3:00 PM – 12:30 AM (2nd Shift)
Pay Range Starting at : $64.84 per hour
PDS Tech Commercial is seeking skilled Cable and Harness Technicians (Level 2 or Level 3) to support a leading organization in the aerospace industry. In this role, you will directly contribute to the fabrication of mission-critical cable and harness assemblies that support cutting-edge spaceflight, national security programs, and scientific exploration. Your work will play a vital part in ensuring safety, reliability, and success across multiple advanced aerospace initiatives.
• Interpret schematics, wiring diagrams, wire lists, and engineering sketches to build complex spaceflight cable and harness assemblies
• Perform point?to?point wiring and soldering of dense wire bundles in confined spaces
• Build and work from harness boards, routing and tying-in cables and harnesses
• Complete electrical, electronic, and mechanical assembly tasks independently or within an assembly team
• Lay out and construct harness boards for various electrical/electronic and mechanical assemblies
• Mix and apply bonding components, sealants, and encapsulants
• Use soldering irons, tweezers, heat guns, and a wide range of hand tools and assembly equipment
• Maintain a clean, organized, and ESD/FOD-compliant work environment
• Complete a hands?on skills assessment to demonstrate technical proficiency
• High School Diploma or GED plus 3+ years of education and/or relevant experience
• Minimum 2 years of electrical assembly and wiring experience
• Ability to obtain certification for IPC WHMA?A?620 and NASA?J?STD
• Ability to read and interpret drawings and wiring diagrams
• High School Diploma or GED plus 6+ years of education and/or relevant experience
• Minimum 5 years of electrical assembly and wiring experience
• Ability to obtain certification for IPC WHMA?A?620 and NASA?J?STD
• Strong mechanical/electrical aptitude
• ESD and crimping experience
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office
This position requires use of information or access to facilities subject to the International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR) and/or Export Administration Regulations (EAR). These regulations may limit access of controlled technologies: 1) to U.S. Persons, including U.S. Citizens, lawful permanent residents, and other narrow categories including refugees and asylees, or 2) to certain foreign nationals that have received an export license.
• Technical trade school graduate
• Current certifications: IPC WHMA?A?620, NASA?J?STD, or other electronics assembly standards
• Experience with MES systems, workflow management, and documentation
