Systems Engineer – Drive Innovation in Next?Generation Aerospace Systems

PDS Tech Commercial is seeking a highly skilled Systems Engineer to support a leading organization in the aerospace industry. This is an exciting opportunity to contribute to the development of advanced, highly integrated systems that shape the future of air dominance and defense technology.

Role Summary

As a Systems Engineer, you will play a critical role in supporting system architects, engineering subject matter experts, and program leadership to implement and manage a Model?Based Systems Engineering (MBSE) approach. You will join a fast?paced, collaborative environment where your technical expertise, communication skills, and leadership abilities will directly influence the design, integration, and verification of complex aerospace systems.

This position is 100% onsite in Hazelwood, MO, operating on a Monday–Friday, first?shift schedule (8 AM–5 PM).

Key Responsibilities

• Lead cross?functional engineering teams to meet project and program commitments, including customer reviews and technical deliveries
• Implement, refine, and support systems engineering processes across the program
• Support MBSE and digital engineering initiatives to align with customer expectations
• Execute core systems engineering activities, including:
– Requirements decomposition
– System architecture development
– Environments analysis
– Specification and interface development
– Trade studies and program planning
– Risk management
– Certification planning and execution
– Verification and test planning
• Capture engineering work products appropriately within MBSE tools
• Apply interdisciplinary, collaborative approaches to design and validate complex systems solutions

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor of Science degree in engineering, engineering technology, physics, chemistry, mathematics, data science, or computer science
• 5+ years of engineering experience
• 4+ years of systems engineering experience

This position requires use of information or access to facilities subject to the International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR) and/or Export Administration Regulations (EAR). These regulations may limit access of controlled technologies: 1) to U.S. Persons, including U.S. Citizens, lawful permanent residents, and other narrow categories including refugees and asylees, or 2) to certain foreign nationals that have received an export license.                                               
 

Preferred Qualifications

• Background in tactical/defense aircraft, mission systems, or weapon system development
• Experience with software requirements and verification management
• Familiarity with verification and/or certification of safety?critical or mission?critical hardware/software
• Hands?on experience with MBSE tools (e.g., SysML?compatible platforms such as MSOSA)
• Experience with DOORS, JIRA, and Confluence
• Active Secret Clearance within the last 24 months
