Start: March 30, 2026
Contract Length: 12 months to start, likely to extend
Location: Oakbrook Terrace, IL - work is HYBRID so candidates MUST be local
Pay: $50.00 - $66.00 per hour (depending on experience)
Job Description: A Distribution Engineer is a professional with several years of experience in the field of engineering. Responsibilities may vary depending on the specific engineering discipline, but generally include:
Leading and managing engineering projects from conception to completion.
Designing, developing, and testing products, systems, or structures.
Conducting research and analysis to solve complex engineering problems.
Preparing and reviewing engineering documentation, such as drawings, specifications, and reports.
Evaluating and selecting materials and equipment for projects.
Participating in project planning and management activities.
Performing calculations and simulations to support engineering designs.
Collaborating with other engineers, professionals, and stakeholders on project teams.
Ensuring compliance with engineering standards, codes, and regulations.
Mentoring and providing guidance to junior engineers and technical staff.
Work Schedule & Location:
40 hours/week
Monday–Friday
Hybrid:
Remote: Monday & Friday
On-site: Tuesday–Thursday at Lincoln Center 2
Required Skills & Experience:
Top 3 Skills
• Previous Distribution Engineering experience
• Must have ComEd C-SPECS knowledge
• Proficient with Poleforeman and TED
Candidate MUST Haves:
Prior QAQC reviewer experience for Distribution Designs
Years of Experience:
5–10 years
Education Requirements:
Engineering Degree preferred
If no degree: Minimum 6+ years as a designer/QAQC reviewer
Specific Technical Experience:
Poleforeman
TED
DE14 knowledge
Deal Breakers:
No previous QAQC experience
Project Responsibilities:
Perform engineering reviews after designs pass initial QAQC
Verify compliance with ComEd specifications and standards
Provide review feedback to help design entities improve performance and quality
Additional Notes:
Must be able to work independently
Should take initiative and work with minimal guidance
Strong knowledge required to perform detailed reviews
Ability to provide constructive, growth-oriented feedback to design teams
