In this role, you’ll work alongside the Aircraft Services Customization team to install and support avionics systems that keep aircraft operating safely and efficiently.
Job Title: Avionics Technician
Job Type: Full-Time; Consultant (6 Months)
Location: Piney Flats, TN
Schedule: Monday – Thursday | 6:00 AM – 4:30 PM (4x10 First Shift)
Pay Rate: $25.00 – $40.00 per hour
As an Avionics Technician, you’ll support the installation and integration of advanced aircraft electrical systems while ensuring the highest standards of quality and safety.
Key responsibilities include:
Run, route, and terminate aircraft wiring with precision
Install avionics components and electrical systems within commercial aircraft
Assist with ring-outs and testing of installed wiring to verify system integrity
Read and interpret electrical schematics and technical drawings
Troubleshoot wiring and avionics system installation issues as needed
Ensure all work meets aerospace quality and safety standards
Document work performed accurately and consistently
Collaborate with the aircraft customization team to meet production schedules
Work with minimal supervision while maintaining attention to detail
Perform additional duties as assigned to support aircraft completion
High School Diploma or equivalent
5+ years of avionics experience
Strong ability to read and interpret electrical schematics
Experience running and terminating aircraft wiring
Excellent troubleshooting and problem-solving skills
Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality workmanship
Ability to work both independently and as part of a technical team
This position requires use of information or access to facilities subject to the International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR) and/or Export Administration Regulations (EAR). These regulations may limit access of controlled technologies: 1) to U.S. Persons, including U.S. Citizens, lawful permanent residents, and other narrow categories including refugees and asylees, or 2) to certain foreign nationals that have received an export license.
FAA Airframe Certification
Additional training or certifications in electrical installations, avionics systems, or aircraft wiring
This role involves hands-on aircraft work and requires the ability to:
Lift up to 25 lbs independently and 50 lbs with team assistance
Perform prolonged kneeling, squatting, crawling, and climbing ladders or work stands
Stand for extended periods during the shift
Demonstrate strong hand-eye coordination and manual dexterity for wiring and small component installation
Bend, stoop, and crouch while working within aircraft structures
Maintain strong visual focus to identify wiring details and potential defects
Communicate effectively with team members and supervisors
