Schedule: Monday–Friday | 8:00 AM – 4:30 PM
Pay Rate: $52.73 per hour
PDS Tech Commercial is seeking an experienced Purchasing/Procurement Specialist to support a leading aerospace organization in Bohemia, NY. In this high-impact role, you will manage supplier relationships, drive procurement strategy, and ensure materials and services are delivered on time, at the right cost, and to the highest quality standards.

As a Purchasing/Procurement Specialist, you will take ownership of supplier performance within a designated commodity or product family. Your ability to manage schedules, negotiate pricing, analyze costs, and resolve supply challenges will directly influence production continuity, financial performance, and customer satisfaction.
Manage all aspects of supplier relationships within an assigned commodity.
Direct and oversee schedules and purchase orders for supplier accounts or product families.
Ensure products are delivered on time, meet quality standards, and align with cost targets.
Perform delivery assurance activities and proactively mitigate supply risks.
Plan and coordinate procurement-related elements of manufacturing and distribution.
Execute procurement processes including RFPs, negotiation preparation, and cost analysis.
Prepare and issue purchase orders and approve payments under general guidance.
Negotiate pricing and contractual terms to protect organizational interests.
Compile price proposals, financial reports, and cost data to support pricing decisions.
Respond to supplier inquiries regarding order status, changes, or cancellations.
Expedite deliveries and resolve shortages, late shipments, or supply disruptions.
Bachelor’s degree with 6 years of relevant experience, OR
Advanced degree with a minimum of 3 years of relevant experience, OR
In the absence of a degree, 10 years of relevant procurement experience required.
Strong proficiency in Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint.
Demonstrated experience in supplier management, procurement processes, and cost analysis.
This position requires use of information or access to facilities subject to the International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR) and/or Export Administration Regulations (EAR). These regulations may limit access of controlled technologies: 1) to U.S. Persons, including U.S. Citizens, lawful permanent residents, and other narrow categories including refugees and asylees, or 2) to certain foreign nationals that have received an export license.
Experience with Macola or other MRP/ERP systems.
Background in aerospace, manufacturing, or complex supply chain environments.
Strong negotiation and analytical skills.
Proven ability to manage multiple priorities and supplier relationships simultaneously.
