Summary:
Test composite components and assemblies for spacecraft applications
Support evaluation of advanced materials, bonding solutions, joint configurations, and part designs to meet quality and performance standards
Perform material, qualification, and acceptance testing for composite hardware
Work a day shift schedule (Monday Thursday, 4/10)
Participate in continuous improvement initiatives within the manufacturing and test environment
Requirements:
High School Diploma or equivalent required
7+ years of experience in composite materials testing, including qualification and acceptance testing
Ability to read and interpret drawings, blueprints, and digital or physical models
Extensive experience with:
Lay-up procedures
Vacuum bagging techniques
Oven and autoclave curing processes
Structural bonding experience using adhesives and mechanical fasteners
Strain gauge bonding on composite test coupons
Proficiency using hand, power, and composite machining tools such as:
Saws, surface grinders, drills, pencil grinders
Lathes, mills, and other mechanical equipment
Knowledge of shop floor manufacturing and inspection technologies
Ability to follow work instructions using computer applications
Hands-on technical approach with a focus on continuous improvement
Experience working in an Agile work environment
Ability to perform additional duties to support program and organizational objectives
Must be available to work all shifts, including overtime and weekends as required
Approximately 10% travel may be required
Ability to stand for extended periods (up to 4 hours)
Ability to stoop, bend, crawl, and work in confined spaces
Ability to perform medium physical work, including:
Lifting up to 50 lbs occasionally
20 lbs frequently
10 lbs regularly
Must be a U.S. Citizen (as defined by ITAR).
Preferred Skills:
Experience with precision measurement tools such as optical microscopes, FTIR instruments, or DGA instrumentation
Familiarity with laboratory or industrial software applications
Technical report writing experience
Experience using Atlassian tools (Jira, Confluence)
Strong safety awareness and housekeeping practices
Demonstrated process improvement or technical leadership experience
