Chipton-Ross is seeking multiple Manufacturing Technician 2's for a contract opportunity in Oxnard, CA.
BASIC QUALIFICATIONS (REQUIRED SKILLS/EXPERIENCE): o High school diploma or GED and at least 2 years of additional education and/or related experience. o Ability to read, write and work to instructions written in English. o Ability to work flexible hours, overtime, and different shifts based on demanding manufacturing schedules. o Initiative, self-starter, adaptable, and high motivation for excellence. o Ability to navigate and operate within a Microsoft Office Environment (Word, PowerPoint and Excel). o Demonstrated Mechanical Ability. o Ability to read and follow directions on engineering drawings and/or schematics. o Familiarity with the proper hand tool technique and safety (wrenches, screwdrivers, etc. o Familiarity with the concept of Torque. o Must be a US Citizen.
POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES: Looking for a Manufacturing Technician 2 to support the Mission Enabling Products (MEP) Business Unit. Responsibilities: o Performs a variety of duties relating to the fabrication or assembly of mechanical components for larger assemblies. o Sets up and tests complete prototype units and subassemblies under operational conditions. Analyzes data and recommends modifications to components or test procedure to meet desired specifications. o May assist mechanical engineers in the development of mechanical and electromechanical engineering designs, tests, fabrications of assemblies and components. o Performs functions associated with all manufacturing operations, including working with engineers in set-up and calibration tasks, as well as performing rework and quality testing related to the production of parts, components, sub-assemblies, and final assemblies. o Uses sophisticated programs to collect and evaluate operating data to conduct on-line adjustments to products, instruments, or equipment. o Determines and assists in developing methods and procedures to control or modify the manufacturing process. o Handling and managing fragile composite materials. o Notate usage, traceability, pot life, and out time controls on all adhesive materials used. o Bond, prep and bonding of composite structures to metallic fittings. o Utilize measurement tools such as calipers, rulers, and tape measures for fabricating hardware. o Report data and interface with other employees and departments. o Reading and understanding manufacturing/ engineering drawings and shop planning. o Assist in maintaining overall shop appearance and cleanliness.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS: o Ability to lift/push/pull up to 40 pounds. o Ability to be on feet for up to various hours each day.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS (DESIRED SKILLS/EXPERIENCE): o Experience working in a composites/manufacturing environment (space/satellite structures, aerospace manufacturing environment). o Initiative, self-starter, adaptable, and high motivation for excellence. o Able to read, write and work to written instructions, blueprints, or shop drawings in English. o Proficient use of basic shop arithmetic. o Ability to multitask, prioritize. o Experience or familiarity with ISO requirements, standards, and compliance issues. o Experience with cranes and rigging, forklifts, and similar manufacturing equipment. o Proficient use of electronic test equipment such as DC power supplies, Digital Multimeters, and Source Meters.
REQUIRED EDUCATION: High school diploma/GED required. School must be accredited.
