PDS Tech Commercial is partnering with a leader in the aerospace industry to hire a skilled Bonder – Metal or Composite in El Segundo, CA. Schedule: Monday–Friday | Must be available for any shift (9/80 schedule)
Job Type: Full-Time Consultant (12 Months)
Pay Rate Starting at : $31.19 per hour
As a Bonder, you will play a key role in fabricating and repairing composite and metal bonded products that support advanced aerospace programs. Your expertise in blueprint interpretation, bonding techniques, and controlled curing processes will directly impact product integrity, performance, and safety.
This role requires precision, technical skill, and a commitment to quality in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
Read and interpret blueprints and technical drawings
Lay out articles and cut materials to size
Apply liquid or solid bonding agents to metal, composite, or laminate materials
Understand ply orientations and vacuum bagging processes
Operate autoclaves, hydraulic presses, and ovens to complete bonding cycles
Control heat, pressure, and timing per material and bonding specifications
Sand, burr, and smooth surfaces; apply sealing resins to exposed edges
Perform repairs using inspection and rework instructions
Monitor and verify the quality of finished products to ensure compliance with specifications
High School diploma or GED
Minimum 4 years of composite fabrication or bonding experience in a manufacturing/production environment
Ability to perform moderate strenuous and repetitive physical work, including:
Lifting over 25 pounds
Working with chemicals
Prolonged overhead work
Kneeling, bending, or stooping
Carrying tools
Ability to work in confined or enclosed spaces
Flexibility to work changing shifts, including weekends
Must successfully complete and pass ASTAR New Hire Training / Compliance within company-defined timeframe
This position requires use of information or access to facilities subject to the International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR) and/or Export Administration Regulations (EAR). These regulations may limit access of controlled technologies: 1) to U.S. Persons, including U.S. Citizens, lawful permanent residents, and other narrow categories including refugees and asylees, or 2) to certain foreign nationals that have received an export license.
Experience with high-temperature composite materials such as BMI and Polyimide
Experience with structural subassemblies
Background in bonding, co-bonding, core bonding, and bagging processes
