Aircraft Painter – Join a High Impact Aerospace Production Team

Location: Mountainhome, PA
Job Type: Full-Time, Consultant (18 months)
Schedule: Monday–Friday, 7:00 AM–3:30 PM
Pay Rate: $22 per hour
Steel Toe Boots Required on Day 1

About the Role

PDS Tech Commercial is seeking a skilled General Operator to support a leading aerospace partner. In this hands on role, you will help ensure high quality finishing, coating, and preparation of aerospace components. Your work directly contributes to the performance, durability, and safety of mission critical products.

What You’ll Do

As a General Operator, you’ll support painting, surface preparation, and finishing operations, including:

• Interpreting prints and following manufacturing instructions for painting, plating, marking, and touch up tasks.

• Assisting painters with preparation activities, including cleaning, masking, unmasking, and paint prep tasks.

• Applying coatings using spray guns, brushes, or other application tools.

• Working with MIL-SPEC requirements and understanding proper paint thickness.

• Operating and maintaining both automatic and manual painting, spraying, and dipping equipment.

• Using solvents, cleaners, and abrasive blasting equipment to prep and clean parts.

• Supporting additional production duties as needed by management.

• Receiving and providing cross?training on related department functions.

Required Qualifications

• Minimum 2+ years of experience in automotive or aerospace painting.

• Ability to read and follow detailed manufacturing instructions.

• Ability to work with spray guns, brushes, coating equipment, and other finishing tools.

• Comfortable using solvents, cleaners, and abrasive blasting techniques.

• Ability to lift, stand, and perform physical tasks as required in a production environment.

• Steel toe boots required on the first day.

This position requires use of information or access to facilities subject to the International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR) and/or Export Administration Regulations (EAR). These regulations may limit access of controlled technologies: 1) to U.S. Persons, including U.S. Citizens, lawful permanent residents, and other narrow categories including refugees and asylees, or 2) to certain foreign nationals that have received an export license.                                               
 

Preferred Qualifications

While not required, the following experience is beneficial:

• Prior exposure to MIL-SPEC requirements.

• Experience in production, manufacturing, or industrial finishing environments.

• Background in equipment operation or maintenance within a paint or coating department.
