Senior Project Engineering Manager (hybrid)
PDS Tech Commercial is hiring a Senior Project Engineering Manager to support a world leading client in the energy and power generation sector. This is a high visibility engineering leadership role where you will influence major project outcomes, drive technical strategy, and shape the delivery of critical power infrastructure across the Americas.

In this position, you will oversee the engineering execution of OTR contracts with Balance of Plant (BOP) scope and serve as the technical focal point from contract signature through fulfillment. You will guide project engineering activities, manage risk and scope, collaborate with global engineering hubs, and represent engineering in front of customers and partners.
Location: Schenectady, NY - Hybrid schedule with EST preference (not required)
Shift: 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM or 8:30 AM to 5:30 PM
Compensation: $66.42 per hour
Travel: About one week per month
This is not a traditional project management role. It is a technically driven engineering leadership role focused on system level ownership and delivery excellence.
• Serve as the technical leader responsible for engineering scope development, planning, scheduling, and execution
• Manage cross functional engineering teams and drive alignment across product lines and disciplines
• Act as the primary technical contact for customer and partner discussions
• Review customer specifications and ensure full requirement flow down to all engineering functions
• Evaluate scope changes and assess schedule, cost, and technical impacts
• Provide technical support to engineering, sourcing, vendors, and installation teams to ensure requirements are met
• Champion quality, continuous improvement, and lessons learned initiatives
• Lead engineering execution for BOP scoped projects from start to finish
• Apply engineering expertise to resolve moderately complex issues and drive optimal solutions
• Collaborate with global engineering hubs including Belfort, Baden, Noida, Queretaro, Schenectady, and Greenville
• Mentor engineering colleagues and serve as a resource to less experienced team members
• Support total project solutions across multiple product lines and ensure consistent delivery
• Bachelor’s degree or higher in Engineering or related STEM field
• At least 6 years of relevant industry experience with increasing responsibility
• Strong background in engineering project or program leadership
• Excellent communication and stakeholder influencing skills
• Ability to manage multiple priorities in a dynamic environment
• Knowledge of mechanical and electrical codes and compliance
• Familiarity with turbomachinery, generator systems, controls, electrical systems, or power plant accessories
• Experience in the energy, power generation, or large scale industrial engineering sector
• Expertise in Mechanical, Electrical, or Process Engineering
• Leadership experience in cross functional or global engineering environments
• Strong problem solving, creativity, and continuous improvement mindset
• Customer facing experience with the ability to build trust and drive alignment
