Position Details
Job Title: Assembler
Job Type: Full-Time, Consultant (12 months)
Location: Sterling, VA (100% onsite)
Schedule: Monday – Friday, 1st Shift (6:00 AM – 3:00 PM)
Pay Rate: $22.79 per hour
As an Assembler, your day will be focused on building and installing mechanical subassemblies for advanced flight simulators. Your work will directly support the development of high-quality training equipment used across the aerospace industry.
Key responsibilities include:
Reading, interpreting, and following blueprints, diagrams, engineering drawings, specifications, and bills of materials
Building subassemblies and completing installations according to detailed instructions
Operating hand and power tools, measuring devices, and light equipment
Performing molding, sanding, and cutting of acrylic components
Conducting quality inspections, identifying defects, and documenting findings
Repairing and reworking products based on engineering changes
Maintaining inventory at workstations and ensuring accurate tracking of materials
Operating fork trucks and overhead cranes to move materials and finished products
Following strict quality and safety standards
Keeping a clean, organized, and safe work environment
Required Qualifications:
Strong mechanical skills
Ability to read and interpret blueprints and technical documentation
Experience using basic hand tools and drill bits
Team-oriented mindset and strong communication skills
Ability to climb up to 6 feet (25% of the time)
Ability to stand for up to 8 hours per day and lift up to 25 lbs
Steel-toed boots required (not provided)
This position requires use of information or access to facilities subject to the International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR) and/or Export Administration Regulations (EAR). These regulations may limit access of controlled technologies: 1) to U.S. Persons, including U.S. Citizens, lawful permanent residents, and other narrow categories including refugees and asylees, or 2) to certain foreign nationals that have received an export license.
